MAKING YOUR HOME SING MONDAY

I am linking up with my friend, Mom's The Word to participate in her Monday meme, "Making Your Home Sing Monday." It's a day when we share what we are doing to bless our families in our home. If you would like to join in, click here.

I'm not afraid to admit that I'm not a great organizer. In fact, I'm more of a procrastinator. I see how people make lists and schedules, and I always think to myself, "I need to do that too!" I'm sure life will be much simpler that way! Not only for myself, but for my family!

I'm sure I will never turn into one of those people who will live by a schedule, but it would be nice to see "on paper" what needs to be done! This way I'm not overlapping schedules, I know what I'm making for dinner each night, and I know who needs to get where, by what time!

Now, I'm sure all you list makers out there are just dying to share with me some of your ideas, right? Well, I'm open to just about anything!!! So, if you feel the need, please do so!!! You can say that you had help in making my home sing!!!

Hi Alicia!

I think we must have read each others minds today! I too have to make a chore list! I can't live in chaos anymore.

Under Labels, House and Home I believe I have some pics of one of my journals (yes one, I have quite a few 'lists' going, journal for prayer, journal where I write praise to Jesus, and a journal for chores)lol.

I also did a video where I shared my one month menu that I had laminated and now hang on my kitchen fridge.

I just got back to having a Chore Journal. I have so desired to be more of a Proverbs 31 Woman, using my time, talents and gifts wisely for my family and home. The Lord just kept bringing to my mind,,'the President doesn't go about his day just letting the day unfold, anyone that is truly successful has a 'game plan' for their day." So after many years of crying, bawling, procrastinating (oh how I have struggled in that department), being lazy, God has given me the push, the diligence, to move forward and start walking in more godly wisdom.

God IS sooooo good girl! He increases, and we decrease. More of Him in us, and less of us and our worldly self..

((hugs))

Girl, I'm not a organizer either. Far from it but I so wish I could be. My life would be so much easier when I'm trying to find something that's for sure.

Hope you have a fantastic Monday.

I have been both! I've been ridiculously organized at times and a total procrastinator at other times. Being organized makes life so much easier - so why am I being a procrastinator too?! You should see the mess I have around here right now! I recently started my menu planning again at least, that helps a lot :-)

I never made lists, but I was good at organizing...but now that I have kids, I'm pretty much bad at anything that involves planning! :)

I'm an organizer, schedule or whatever...wannabe. A little organization couldn't hurt. If you get any advice, I'll be sure to read ;)

Hmmm... I'm a procrastinating organizer. How confused am I? ;-)

I am not here with ANY advice. I am terrible about lists, planning and organizing. So I feel your pain my friend! You'll have to let us know if you ger some great advice!

I excel at time management.

My best advice is to sit down with a calendar (I use the Google Calendar) and write/type down your daily routine. I always record more time than the task actually takes to allow time for mistakes, interruptions or the unexpected.

Writing/typing everything down allows you to see your routine in real time. I find tons of pockets of time in my day that way:-)

I used to be great at that. Now I have three kids and I am lucky if I remember to take a shower. No advice from me!

I hope you will post a copy of it once you're finished, I love to see other people's schedules.

I posted a link to my weekly one in today's post, and within the weekly post is a link to my daily one if that'll help at all.

Also, here's a link to a post I did about creating a schedule if you'd like to see it.

Not trying to spam you with links but you did ask for any ideas, lol!

Basically, list the things you absolutely have to do each day (meals, school, sleep) and then build your schedule around that.

You can email me if you need any help and want someone to bounce ideas off of.

Well, my kids are little...so I'm not sure that our schedule would be very inspirational! LOL!

But as far as meals go, I plan ahead for a month at a time. It makes shopping much easier, and I never have too wonder what to cook! :)

hey, girl! I have missed reading your blog. I haven´t been able to read much here lately.

I love to make schedules. I love to see it all laid out. I think I can do this (with God´s Help cause I pray about it too) Then I rebel. I totally go against my own schedule. I say "I´m flexible, I´m still in it." but by the time I realize it my schedule has become in need of a revamp. ;) That´s the extent of our school schedule too. I want to find a school schedule that´s flexible but helps me get everything done. Is there such a thing?

Now I have written a book! I love that some are leaving their lists. I am gonna go scoping them out! I jot lists down. weekly menus and shopping list but they are really rough sketches!

big hug my friend.
