MEET THE IN-LAWS

My husbands parents came down from Nevada to visit us for a couple of days! The last couple of times it's been just my mother in-law because my father in-law does not care for the drive. I don't blame him though. It takes 4.5 hours just to get here, and maybe more with traffic!

When they were done with VBS, they took my kids to lunch and then to the mall so Danny could pick out his birthday gift. After that, they took them swimming at their hotel for a couple of hours! I totally enjoyed more of a break!

For dinner, we always go to the same restaurant when they're here. In fact, just tonight, my fil said they have been going there for past 40 years!!! Whoa! They do have the best burgers though!!!

Here is my father in-law and Eli getting their salad before the burgers come out!

Is that salad good, Danny?? LOL

Oh yah...the "Steer Burger!"

I love how Eli is smiling at Danny!

After dinner, we drove to Sweet Retreat for some ice cream. I didn't have any though. I was stuffed from dinner!

I should've got some ice cream!

Oh that´s so great that your In laws can come so easily. We drive 5 hrs plus to go to Madrid. I know if we had family we would be doing it way more often. What i love about this is that you all don´t take for granted getting together. It sure does make it special when they can come.

That ice cream looks so wonderful!! I would so not do well on my fitness journey in the States. I would have to find some real good substitutes.

ARe the big kids doing well at camp? I had forgotten thats why they they weren´t in the pics.

love the smiles on your guys! That Danny really is stretching out his birthday. ;)

What fun for all!

Hi Alicia,

I agree that not watching TV or movies does not mean one is godlier, but my sisters who do not watch anything are not self-righteous about their own convictions. They have just made a stronger commitment in that area than I personally am ready to make.

I don’t think anyone should make that or any other decision based on pressure for others who find fault with them. Each of us needs to follow God alone, and when we make a decision, it will only be right if we are making it because God is speaking to us. Otherwise, we are operating under condemnation from those around us and the results are never good. That just creates more self-righteous people, not godly people.

Thanks for your comment.

My older boys are already jealous that the new DS's have a camera. Their younger brother isn't even getting one yet and they say it will be unfair when he does.

Oh, I cannot believe you didn't get ice cream! That looks soooo good.
