MAKING YOUR HOME SING MONDAY

I am linking up with my friend, Mom's The Word to participate in her Monday meme, "Making Your Home Sing Monday." It's a day when we share what we are doing to bless our families in our home. If you would like to join in, click here.

You all know that expression, "Down to the wire." Well, that's us, in regards to our summer break!! It's is almost officially OVA'!!!!!!! Am I looking forward to that? Of course NOT!!

But, we will have to suck it up, and move ahead just like everyone else.

Our new school year will also have new rules, and I plan on enforcing them. I let too much slide last year, and I definitely reaped what I sowed. I know that all kids ultimately like to have a plan and/or schedule, and I believe our home will be running smoothly if I stick to them!

I've already come up with a few that are pretty much no brainers, but in the past, I let those rules fall to the wayside!

Therefore, as far as video games, and or computer (leisure) time, they will not be able to use them until all schoolwork is finished. They will be responsible for certain chores, and we will also stick with our devotion in the mornings. There will also be consequences if they do not follow through with things on their end as well.

So, this week, I'm getting every last detail taken care of, so come next Tuesday, we will be good to go!

I found that every time a new school year rolled around I was a little wiser than the year before. I know you will have a great year of homeschooling.

We are into our second week of school and still trying to get into the swing of things. Last week, I could not get dinner made at a reasonable hour so that is what I'm gonna work on this week!

Hope all goes smoothly for ya'll!

You kind of learn what works and doesn't work, and once they get on the computer or into a t.v. program it's hard to get them off, isn't it?

For myself I have to keep my own focus as it's easy for me to get distracted by cleaning, organizing or (gasp!) the computer.

Right now he's writing an essay so I hopped on! Thank you for joining us today!

Good luck with the new school year.
I had wonderful plans until my son broke his arm and now can't write. We are going to be flexible and try new things!

Good luck enforcing the rules! Oh, it's so easy for moms to let the rules slide but, boy, do we pay for it!

Disciplining is definitely hard work, but we know in the long run it will benefit them.

I like the morning devotions...I keep wrestling with if I should do it in the mornings or before bed at nights.

Very good plan! I work with a tight schedule with my little ones and they most follow. We started a great school year and they are doing wonderful. Shores and homework are done on time! Next week Big Jr. is going to start music classes so he is going to be pretty busy all week!
Have a great fun school year my friend!
