THANKFUL THURSDAY

Today I'm linking up with Sonya @ Truth 4 The Journey for "Thankful Thursday." All you need to do is list five things that you're thankful for this week! If you want to participate, just visit her blog and link up!

1. I am thankful for our first week back of homeschooling. I've said this before, but even on our hardest day, I would not trade it for anything. I know that God has called our family to do this, and I will not take it for granted. I know so many mom's miss their babies while they're away at school, or even if they have to work themselves. I'm so thankful that God has made the way for me to be a stay at home mom for the last eleven years!

2. I am thankful that we homeschool because we are able to go to my dad's for lunch during the week. We can be flexible when we want to be, and that is such a blessing for a big family!

3. I am thankful that my husband doesn't mind or gripe about going to the store to get feminine products, and he will even call me to make sure he's getting the right "things." What a guy!!!

4. I am thankful that my teenage son is never embarrassed to hug or kiss me in front of his friends! My 7 year old son doesn't even like to kiss me in front of "daddy."

5. Finally, I am thankful that even when I fall short, God continues to show me His grace. I get humbled every single time.

And what may you be thankful for today?

There are just so many things I'm thankful for. I loved having my kids and raising them, and I love having my grandkids now.

I am so thankful that Dott had her puppies so easily, and they are all doing so well. (Have you visited and seen the puppy pics?)

I'm thankful that we've finally got running water again after almost 9 months without...

I'm thankful that God loves me!

I'm thankful that there are still people out there that love their kids enough to want to homeschool when they ar able, because I worked so long in the public school system and it is NOT a good thing anymore!

That's a great list!

My husband will go get the products but he calls them "huge embarassment packs". So, I haven't asked him to do that since bed rest with my youngest:-)

You could just as easily call this a blessing list. God is good! :)

I do love your list today! What a wonderful hubby you have to do that! I remember my poor hubby had to go out and buy me breast pads after the birth of my first son oh and those horrible pads for afterwards! Some guys we have!

What a great list of things to be thankful for! Number 3 made me laugh...my hubby would do the same thing if I asked him...but I try to be nice and not make him do that very often LOL!

Your teenager is a public hugger but the 7 year old isn't? Go figure.

I hope homeschooling goes as well as you've envisioned it this year. I hope all the organizational improvements you've made work out!

Props to your hubby for being able to withstand the feminine product aisle at the store! Woo!

And props to your sweet and affectionate 17 year old son. That leaves me hoping my own will do the same!

Hey, maybe the 7 year old is just going through a short "phase." With an older brother to glean from I'm sure he'll come around again!

So glad you are enjoying the homeschool year and I too am thankful for God's grace! I sure need it!

Maybe it's a 7 year old phase. Logan doesn't kiss me or anyone else anymore either. Glad to hear that hopefully they grow out of it! LOL!

Awww...beautiful list. So much to be thankful for...

Random question...did you homeschool from the start? Did your oldest ever attend a public school?
I ask because I still long to homeschool but think that for mine and the boys' sanity they should be a bit older. I'm wondering how common it is for kids to start public school and then switch to homeschooling.

I hope Kyle is like that when he gets older! I don't want my babies to ever be too old to give me some love, hehe.

You are my hero for homeschooling. I don't have it in me and am always in awe of parents who do. I'm thankful for a good meeting with our principal today.

I'm TOTALLY with you on number 3 - that's how Joshie is... he's such a servant in that manner, I love it!

I love your list today! I was a homeschool Mom for 7 years but this year God called us to put our kids in Christian school. I have a peace about it and I see God's hand in it. I can totally relate to each item on your list, though and the last one is particularly dear to my heart.

God Bless you and this upcoming year, May God grant you the wisdom and grace to succeed this year with educating your precious children at home. Amen.

Love,
Sonya Lee (Always a homeschooler at heart)
