DRIVE-IN FOR 7 = CHEAP!

In the evening of Isaiah's birthday, he wanted all of us to go to the drive-in movies. No argument here since we'd be saving an arm and a leg! My husband can't stand going to the drive-in because he'd rather be in a theater, kicking back. I don't blame him, so would I, but it's fun to do these things once in awhile. Plus, we saved $$$ just doing that! I went to Big Lots and loaded up on snacks that totaled only $15!! That's the price of popcorn and a soda if we had gone to a regular theater.

I still felt unprepared when we got there because I see every other person with blankets, tons of chairs, coolers, the works. We had some chairs, our snacks, and jackets, but the next time we go, I'll be sure to bring more.

Surprisingly, my husband enjoyed it. Actually, we all did, since the last time we were actually there was when Nacho Libre came out!

I wonder when we'll be going back?

A-ha...the big screen! We had front row seats!

My kids are SO OVER me taking their picture!

When we got home that night, we had Isaiah's cake. Yes, I know there are only 12 candles, but I couldn't find the "14" that my husband bought.

How fun! I think the drive in looks awesome - I don't think we have one near us but I'd love to find one so our kids could go!

I didn't even know that there were still drive-ins, I haven't been since I was little. I should look for one because we always had such a great time. What did you see?

How fun! All the drive-ins by us have closed down, so I don't think The Midge will ever get to experience one...:(

Looks like a great time. Drive-ins would never work in Alaska. Always light out in the summer and to cold in the winter..LOL

Oh we love the drive in! We found it a few months ago and have been twice now! So much fun and so much cheaper! There is a family discount day here on Tuesdays that makes it even less expensive! What movie did you all see?? I think we are going back this Tuesday to see Indispicable Me! That cake looks yummy! HOpe he had a good birthday!

what fun! $15 seriously would have bought you just one small soda, one small popcorn and maybe a box of candy! would you believe that the last time I went to a drive-in was to see Ghost...in Hawaii? forever ago! at least your drive in looks up-to-date with a nice screen and everything!

What a fun night. I use to love going to drive ins. There doesn't seem to be any around here any more.

That is truly a wonderful memory that you are getting to share with your kids. We don't have any open Drive-in Theaters around here anymore... Haven't for over 20 years, but my kids still remember seeing Star Wars at one so many years ago... and they were a LOT CHEAPER!!!

I love the drive-in. I think the closest/only one in this area is an hour away. I miss them.
