DOG BIRTHING ADVICE NEEDED!

I posted here a few days ago that our dog, Mocha (chihuahua), will be giving birth ANY DAY NOW!!! I know she is literally in her last days of being pregnant because I can see the puppies movements in her tummy! I've googled, and asked friends what to do when the time comes, but I'm still so nervous! I'm pretty sure I know what symptoms to look for when she's ready, and my husband says to just let the dog "do her thing" because it will be natural/instict for her.

ANYWAY, I just wanted to see if any of you had tips and advice for us what to do when she goes into labor. What are some things we really need to know, and what supplies should we have?

I'M SO NERVOUS!!!!

I am NERVOUS right along with you. But I have to agree with your husband...it will all probably come naturally to her. Hope all goes well.

I guess none of us are giving you much help. I don't know anything about dogs in labor either. I'm thinking your hubby is right....she will know what to do.

My mom breeds dogs so I know a little bit.

She will go off food about a day before birthing and toss around her bedding etc (creating a nest).

Pups should be born within a certain time frame of each other so if she doesn't have the second pup after X amount of time, there should be concern. Call a vet or google that time frame.

If she doesn't progress she needs to see a vet ASAP but again...most of this just happens on it's own. God has a great way of letting nature take it's course.
