Friday Photo Flashback

I started "Friday Photo Flashback" because I have so many pictures from my PRE-digital camera days. I thought it would be fun to scan them and share them here with you. I'm having so much fun doing this, that I would love for you to join me, too! So dig out the photo albums and put your scanner to good use! Don't forget to link up so we can all visit and comment on each others blogs!

2005

I know this isn't too far back, and technically, this isn't a picture I scanned either. However, I was feeling sentimental lately, and started looking at older photos of my kids. I love how just one picture can bring back so many memories, and also show me how fast time really goes by! It's weird because my two older kids here are the same ages as my two younger kids now!

2003

Once upon  a time,  I was hooked (obsessed) with Ebay! I remember looking for deals on Ralph Lauren dresses, and high end boutique brands for my little girl. Then one thing led to another. The more I searched and searched, I wound up stumbling upon "Custom Handmade Clothing." Oh my! It was like another world had opened up for me! I saw all these original custom outfits, beautiful fabrics, and GIRLY GIRL designs that I absolutely fell in love with! If that wasn't enough, there were bow makers that could custom make bows to match any outfit, plus, you also had to have custom bracelets/necklaces, and then finish it off with the perfect shoes! Oh, and God forbid if my daughter wore that outfit twice! But, the good thing was that I could resell that outfit on Ebay, and buy more. Well, that's how I justified buying more and more clothes and accessories for her. The postman was my BFF at the time!!

Well, with that said, this is the FIRST custom outfit I got for Veronica. Oh my...I was so giddy when it came in the mail! I treated it as if it were a piece of gold. I know..looking back, I was so psycho! I could now understand how pageant moms get so fanatic!

All I could say is that thank goodness that it doesn't look so "cute" after a certain age, and that I am so over that phase!! However, she was always known as the best dressed girl with the big bows!!!!!

Girlfriend Getaway

If you ever have an opportunity to get away with your girlfriends for a day or two, I highly recommend it.

Especially as wives or mom's, it's very rare to get alot of time away. But, even if it's for a couple of hours, that is always refreshing, too! It's so fun to just have "girl time," and to just laugh, and be as silly as you want to be!

This past weekend, three of my girlfriends and myself went on an overnight trip a few hours away. The main reason we went was to spend time with one of the gals who is moving to the east coast in a few weeks.

My friend, Lisa, has a timeshare at Angel's Camp, so we decided to head up north and visit the small towns in the area (Sonora and Jamestown). There were tons of antique stores, and cute little shops, and eateries along the way. The weather was PERFECT! We are spoiled by some great California weather!

All my pictures are mixed up in the two days we were there, but here are some of my favorites! I wish I took more pictures, though!

Isn't that rainbow gorgeous?

The timeshare! It was like an apartment. Two story, three bedrooms, and full kitchen!

We wanted to enjoy the room, so we picked up Chinese food and ate in for dinner.

Lisa told us about her favorite sandwich shop, so we ate lunch there on both days!

They Came And Went

My sister and her family were on vacation in Southern California for a couple of weeks. The day before they left back home to Hawaii,  they were only able to spend a little bit of time with us. Thankfully, that one short day was the day of my kids 8th grade graduation. After the ceremony, we went to lunch, and then to my mom's house to hang out for a few hours.

It was nice to have even have that little time with them since we only see them about once a year.  It's not like we could just drive to see them, so this was a special time to be with them.

My sister wanted to take us to lunch at this restaurant she found by my mom's house. I've been there once before, but at that time, I remember having a headache and couldn't enjoy my food. So, I was glad to be back and try something else!

Here is my daughter on the left, my hubby in the back, my son in the tie, and their two cousins!

They reserved this Volkswagen bus that is literally in the restaurant. LOL, my son in the front looks bummed out because he wanted to sit with the adults! I think he was more worried that he was going to have to order from the "kid" menu!
Photobucket

I didn't get up and take pictures of everyone's plate, but everything was delicious! Check out this omelette! Oh, and by the way, this restaurant is called Scrambl'z. However, they have more than just eggs!
Photobucket

And I am a total burger fanatic! I will choose a burger over anything! This is their King Kong burger!

And finally, trying to get a shot of the kids!!

We miss you guys already!!!

Dinner & Dress Up

The night before graduation, our Principal planned a dinner at Maggiano's for the 8th graders! This gave them a chance to dress up, and just enjoy each others company. Since it's such a small class, they all have become really good friends, and it shows just by their interaction with each other.

I'm so thankful for the school, and all the amazing teachers! They are adding 9th grade in the fall, so yes, my kids will be going there again!!!

Here is the 8th grade graduating class (minus one girl). Aren't they cute? My daughter is in the front with the black dress, and my son is the second one to the right (in the gray shirt).

My kiddos!
Photobucket

This was cute because the Principal had the girls take pictures with the boys like this! By the way, the boy on the right is the Principal's son, and he and my daughter used to like each other. Of course, nothing came of it, but they are good friends!
Photobucket

They are going to miss each other. The girl in the middle is moving to NY, and the girl on the far right is going to a different school.

If you've seen this picture before, you are not going crazy. I did use this for a FPF last year. I just knew it would be perfect again, since my two older kids are graduating from 8th grade tomorrow!!

I couldn't be more proud, and I know I'm going to be all tears tomorrow!!!!!

Here I am, in 1983, in the same position they will be in today!!

Tired Shmired!

Just wait till they're adults! Then they'll know the real meaning of tired!

And I'm sure I broke some kind of law from taking pictures with my cell phone while driving on the freeway!

Photobucket

He has a reason to be tired! His class had a field trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk!
Photobucket

And my other son in the front seat was not asleep, but totally annoyed that I was taking pictures while I was driving..lol.
