WORDFUL & WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

I WILL MISS YOU...

You have been with me for over two years now.

You helped me see when nobody else could.

I didn't realize how much I depended on you till I couldn't use you anymore.

Even though you will be replaced very soon, I will never forget you...

Photobucket

My glasses got knocked off the bathroom counter while I was blow drying my hair! I won't be able to drive in the evening till I get a replacement..lol!

I have an eye appointment next week (since I'm overdue for a new exam). I'm debating whether or not to go back to contact lenses!!!!

Be sure to visit 5 Minutes For Mom for more Wordless Wednesday, and 7 Clown Circus for Wordful Wednesday.

  1. I had to get my eyes checked this past year. I purchased contacts & glasses so I would have the choice to go back and forth. When I'm in a rush for work, I'm usually wearing my glasses.

  2. When I can afford it I love to get both glasses and contacts, but I think I'm ultimately defined by my glasses.

You look nice with glasses if that helps! :)

  3. I love the ode to the glasses. I can't wait to see the new ones!

  4. Thanks for the smile. I loved that. Happy WW :O)

  5. LOL- I do not wear glasses but have considered getting a pair with just glass in them so I can get that oh-so-intelligent look they give. :) *wink*

  6. LOL! I used to work for VSP, and always had the luxury of free glasses, so I never really cared that much about breaking them or losing them. Now, that I don't work there anymore, I am so anal about my glasses, and where they are! I didn't realize how expensive they are!

  7. Oh, fellow glasses wearer. I feel your pain. Looking at that broken pair made my stomach fall! I've worn glasses since I was in the fourth grade, so I'm basically blind as a bat. If I don't have my 'eyes', I freak out! *sigh* I hope you get new ones soon!

  10. lol too cute alicia.
I'm still getting used to my glasses. I don't mind wearing them, I like the way they look...the only thing I can't stand is having to clean them fifty times a day. I think at my next exam I may try contacts. I don't know tho, they have always freaked me out...sticking something in my eye..eww. lol. <3

  11. oh no!! that is sad....

at least you are not a freak like me.. I only wear ONE contact in ONE eye... :)

  12. Oh no! You could use some tape for emergency trips at night, lol. I would try to go both contacts and glasses. there are some great online retailers who have affordable frames if you get your prescription. GL and Happy WW

  15. Awwww...I was so excited when I suddenly stopped needing contacts at 43 after wearing them for 20 years. WoooHooo! I hope you get glasses you love as much as these...

  16. I have seriously considered getting contacts, I think glasses are such a pain! But they kinda freak me out, LOL!
I love your post, your intro totally drew me in! Great writing!

  17. Too Funny! It is hard to live without them isn't it?!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sorry about the glasses! I am currently thinking about contact lenses too.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh your poor glasses! I had contacts and they are very good but went back to glasses due to financial sacrifices we had to make!

  20. You look great in glasses. :) Sorry to hear that they're broken, but think of all the new frames that you can try on!

  21. I am so sorry your glasses bit the dust, I remember reading that on facebook.
Joel flushed mine once and I am blind as a bat without them, had to take a trip to Ohio with just contacts it was really rough.
I hope you get a new pair soon.

  22. What a great tribute! I hope whatever you decide will bring you clarity:-)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh, how frustrating. I am blind as a bat without my contacts. I would be lost if something happened to them! I hope you can get a replacement quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  24. You could always tape them. LOL
Poor glasses. I love those glasses on you.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Awwww, your pretty glasses broke! :(

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh no! But here's a new look - can't wait to see what you decide on.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh how sad! I would have to stay in the bed if I broke my glasses and didn't have contacts to wear...otherwise I would probably break my neck trying to get around!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh no.... Well at least you don't have to wait to long to see the eye doctor.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I started reading like "oh no!" and saw the pic and breathed a sign of relief lol. I've never worn glasses so I don't know the extent of your sadness there, though. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh NO!!! I hope you get a new pair soon! I ran ove mine with my car a few... years ago, and still have not gotten a new pair!

  33. Thanks for reminding me that I am way overdo with my eye doctor appointment. My glasses have been glue way too many times now, it is so tacky :) But I only wear them for driving :)

Hey, if you wouldn´t mind come over my blog for an award for you. Love your blog girl!

  34. Sounds like those glasses have been good to you! :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Bummer! I think I'm legally blind without my contacts. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh dear! And those were really cute on you. There seems to be an eyewear theme going on here lately. Maybe you could get a pair like these?

Only kidding! You look great in glasses. Contacts are a hassle. I can only say that now after lasik! Happy WW!

  39. My son did this to my husband’s glasses… but it was kind of good since he has had them since HIGH SCHOOL. Really not sure how he was still seeing out of them! Get some really cute ones! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Sorry about the glasses. But just think of all the fun you can have with new frames or contacts.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Bummer! But sounds like you're due for a new pair...

    ReplyDelete
  42. You look so cute with glasses...plus contacts might mess up your gorgeous eyes..

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh no! Your glasses were so cute. I'm sorry they broke. I know how that feels....

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh man that stinks. I sat on my last pair of glasses and broke them and was so bummed. I superglued them back together but that finally wore out. After my eye appt I went back to contacts and am loving them :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh no......poor glasses! Personally I prefer my contacts over glasses, but you look pretty darn cute in glasses so switching would be a tough choice.

Have fun picking out a new pair.

    ReplyDelete
  46. OH NO!! You poor thing! I hope that you find a pair that you LOVE ... even more than your old faithful glasses!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh noes! You and my dad both lost glasses to a breakage this week. Hope you get some new specks soon!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Poor glasses! I always noticed the glasses on you...thought they looked great!!!

  49. Alicia, Alicia,

I'm crying for you right now! That happened to me w/my last pair of glasses. Even though I only use mine to read fine print (far-sighted), I was totally ruined once I broke my glasses. They looked just like yours and all I wanted to do was cry. I could still see and drive, but once they were broken, all of a sudden, I couldn't go on. The only consolation is that you get to choose another cool pair.

Thank you for visiting my blog!

  50. Sorry about your glasses. 2 yrs. seems like a good amount of time for them. My husband is lucky if he gets a yr. out of them - lol.!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oh Alicia,

I loved those glasses on you! I can't wait to see your new pair though...what a cute post!

    Love you!

  52. My mom got that lasik done and has been very happy with it.

Hope you are able to get some new eyes tonight :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oh no!!!! They must have fallen pretty hard to break right in half like that!!!! Hope you're okay until you can get them replaced!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Looks like it's time for some new ones. I'm so glad I don't have to worry with glasses or contacts anymore. (I had laser eye surgery back when I was married and didn't have a child and still had money.)

  58. I was all prepared to feel sad for you...then laughed when I saw the picture! Good luck finding new ones!

  59. You're not guilty - you've been ``framed''!

    ReplyDelete
  60. What a bummer, I don't wear glasses, but I know how hard it is for hubby to find the right pair!

    ReplyDelete
  61. You're one of those blessed souls who looks good with our without glasses! I don't know what I'd do without my contacts. I don't like the fogging of the lenses and the slipping down my nose and wiping off the rain. I need to buy a new pair of glasses for days when my eyes need a rest. If you were closer we could go glasses shopping together!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Hope you have fun picking out some new frames for yourself!! Sorry you had to do it unplanned though!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Oh, I think I'd cry if that happened to my glasses!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Aww man! Were you devastated? Oh well, this is a good excuse to get a brand new pair or some contacts.

    ReplyDelete
  65. OH NO! Or maybe just in time so you'll go get that eye exam.

I would seriously panic is something happen to my glasses
