INDOOR PICNIC

Ever since I got my "new" China, my youngest daughter has been asking when we could have a tea party. Since I don't have a cute tablecloth yet, she asked if we could just have a picnic in the living room! I was like, "Sure!" We've done this before, but it has been awhile.

On our menu was egg salad sandwiches, strawberries, grapes, and yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

She was really excited to help. Here she is cutting the strawberries. I kept reminding her to be careful with the knife because they are VERY SHARP. If you have Cutco knives, then you know that you can practically slice your finger just by touching it.

Here is our setup. We are ready to dig in! It was just us girls. I know, such a blurry picture!

My tween is so proper, isn't she?

The yummy cake I made!! Like the decor?

Finally, we told the boys they could join us in the living room. Here they are watching The Brady Bunch. This is their new favorite show. I love Netflix because we are able to watch the shows starting from their first season.

So, next step is for me to find a simple, white tablecloth that we can use for our future tea parties. Next tea I have will include the boys, it's just this time, my daughter wanted it to be "girl time."

  2. Hi Alicia,
I remember when my boys were much younger (now 28,18,16) we would have indoor picnics a lot. They would even invite their stuffed animals. LOL...LOVED it!

  3. Most parents would keep the kids 10 feet from their china. You're a great Mommy Alicia.

  32. My friend gave my two girls a mini tea set last Christmas and of course, like your daughter, they wanted to have a tea party right away. I had all these food ideas that never made it to the table because my girls just wanted water in the teapot. They didn't want anything else. That's how they prefer their tea party :(

  33. AAWWW...so great! I want a girl to have a tea party with! That cake so oh so yummy! I think I need some cake now!

  34. What a wonderful memory you have made for yourself and your daughter! So much fun to be able to use the china for your “Tea Party!”

We like Netflix too, because you can pick and choose DECENT movies and shows instead of some of the filthy things they have on now-a-days! We’ve recently gotten an old Western TV series called the Guns of Will Sonnet with Walter Brennan. How long has it been since you’ve seen show where they pray every single show!!!??
