GOODBYE CLUTTER!

One good thing that came out of us not going to Nevada this weekend was that I was able to clean out my entire bedroom. My BIGGEST tackle is my bedroom closet. We don't have alot of storage space, so it seems that everything "extra" goes in there. Kind of like, out of sight, out of mind. I literally took everything out, and was able to fill up EIGHT...(yes, EIGHT) garbage bags of clothes to give away! I pulled all the clothes down from the top shelf in the closet and now it looks like a department store shelf!

Now, I try to keep it as real as possible on my blog, and I have to confess that I have not vacuumed under the chest in a long, long time. So long, that I found an old plastic Easter egg underneath it. I literally could not remember when we had those plastic eggs! It was heavy, so I decided to open it up, and guess what I found?? An egg!! Not a fake egg, but an egg that my kids dyed!!! Thank God that it had faded paint, so it looked normal, but I'm sure underneath the shell was the most disgusting thing ever! Honestly, I'm so glad I found it because there was this smell in the room that we could not pinpoint! When I opened up the egg, it was THAT smell!!! Thank you, Lord!!!!!

So, now my room is clutter free, it smells GOOD, and my husband is happy!

  3. LOL about the egg!!
My biggest fear of decluttering is the storeroom. You never know what lurks inside!! Everything is dumped there.

    Happy Monday, dear Alicia.

  8. I cleared out my closet, my kids' closets, and the garage in December and the house just seems fresher, cleaner, and lighter. It is amazing how things just pile up over time. I learned from my December clean up to organize things better and to not stash unwanted things into the closet or drawers just so they are out of sight.

  20. OH I can't imagine finding an egg, a REAL egg in my bedroom. I'm sure I would have had to find the cause of the smell before that. LOL!
Great job on tackling the closet. That is usually our dump all.

Girl, I need to clean myself.

We have a small house and I took a Suburban load of toys to Goodwill this past week. Now I have a bunch of books to deliver this week.

    It feels great to declutter.

    I want pictures. :o)

    Love!

  23. Well, fantastic! Now you can come over, and do mine! LOL My closet is the catch all & my husband's closet is the clean one except that man has a half a closet of tee shirts (we hang the good ones), and SIT DOWN are ya ready for this? He has four small drawers of tee shirts and two large long drawer filled with them. Oops and another in the middle of the dresser behind the door. Almost forgot about that one. Dang, he must have 500 of those things! He drives me nuts!

  25. LOL, we have a rule..."if you hide REAL eggs on Easter they must all be accounted for before anyone has Easter dinner"

Good job on getting your room cleaned!!! I'm working on getting my kitchen counters completely cleared off, AGAIN. It was an unidentified smell that got me started too
