I don't know why we underestimated Veronica's coordination?
She had her training wheels on UNTIL NOW!
Yes, I know, she's already 6 1/2, but she is "my baby."
Well, this past weekend, she wanted those training wheels OFF!
My husband took them off, and literally, sent her on her way.
Well, not too far away, he was running along side her.
And now, she's a little more independent. She had her training wheels on UNTIL NOW!

But, she's still a baby to me!
She's a brave girl. My son was scared to take off his training wheels. I think he learned to bike on his own when he was six too. Looking at your picture reminds me of my two eldest taking off the first time on their bikes.
ReplyDeleteAnd now she is riding as if she never had training wheels!
ReplyDeleteA milestone, for sure! Go, Veronica! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's like we can't wait for them to do certain things and when they finally do, we're just that bit wistful...
Woo Hoo, Go Veronica Go.
ReplyDeleteGood for her! I think this is a good reminder that we sometimes push kids too fast into things, when if we'd wait until they're ready, they can take off and "fly" all on their own. :)
ReplyDeleteJacob was just like that. As soon as we took him off he was gone. Amazes me how fast they can learn and with others it takes so long - it took Lucas forever to learn to ride without training wheels.
ReplyDeleteWhat a big girl! You and I are a lot alike I think.. I still call my 5 year old my baby! :) (he's my oldest)
ReplyDeleteMy youngest still has her wheels on too. We really need to work on that!
ReplyDeleteAw, just like Zoe!! Zoe is 6 1/2 too and I think the last of our friends kids that still had her training wheels on. I guess they just know when they are ready! Way to V!
ReplyDeleteI meant to say way to go V!
ReplyDeleteI meant to say way to go V!
ReplyDeleteawww- look at her go!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! Isn't it funny how we just want to hold on to the youngest and not let them grow up?! Great job on riding your 2 wheeler! And you know what I find funny...is that is usually takes my younger one on time at all to do the things that my older one took forever to do! Happy riding to V!
ReplyDeleteYEAH, VERONICA! You go! (But not too far!)
ReplyDeleteYeah Veronica!!!! Yet another bittersweet milestone, right??
ReplyDeleteCole can now ride without his training wheels but Bella is still a little too nervous to let hers go!
Smooth sailing Alicia. Awesome that you're able to catch everything on camera!
ReplyDelete-Paul
My 7 year old is still holding onto those training wheels. We are trying but we have no good place to go riding so he just doesn't get that practice that he needs.
ReplyDeleteLooks like your baby has the hang of it.
that fun and beautiful shots...
ReplyDeletebike riding is cool for kids.
WooHooo Look at her go! That's exciting!
ReplyDeletehow fun!! we have a barn hill. so i'm assuming when the girls are ready for no training wheels...they'll be flying down the hill. ((at least that is what shaun says))
ReplyDeleteshe looks like she's having fun! so true..at least you got it all down on the camera:):) I can't wait to get my 5 yr. old her first bike. That will be quite an experience...lol.
ReplyDeleteYay for Veronica! I think maybe you do things for the youngest slower, so they will stay the baby just a little while longer:)
ReplyDeleteThat's great for Veronica! No matter how old, they will always be our babies. :) Never too big for our laps.
ReplyDeleteDelighted to meet you today. I hope you don't mind if I splash around a bit to get to know you. This looks like a delightful spot to slip off my shoes and drench myself in goodness.
ReplyDeleteSplashin,
Sara
Hooray Veronica!
ReplyDeleteLook at her go! You'd think she's been riding for years!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's impressive!
ReplyDeleterock it Veronica!!! We are sooo proud of you!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood for her. What will happen to you when she starts driving??
ReplyDeleteThat's a tough thing to do....let your baby grow up.
ReplyDeleteThere goes your baby... *sniff!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Veronica! I'm so proud of her.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday, Alicia.
Awww..how sweet is that!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, good luck to Veronica, and to you for seeing your baby grow..and to your husband for running after every now and then :)
Have a lovely time with your beautiful family...
That is so awesome. Yeah veronica. Great job.
ReplyDeleteMy Baby Girl (8yr. old) had training wheels until last month. She did great!
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly how I felt too. Good for Veronica - way to go!
