WORK IT!

For the last couple of weeks, our friend Brad started a workout every Monday evening with some of the older boys from church. My husband went with my son's last week, and I wanted to go too, but I thought it was all guys. Well, turns out that Brad's wife walks the track while they do their thing.

Perfect! I could walk with her!

In fact, we walked 2.5 miles!

So, we all went this past Monday, and I totally knew this was going to be a blog post in the making!

So, after the guys (and Miranda) warmed up, what they did was sprint to the 10 yard line and back, do 20 push ups, and then continue again, but to the 20, then 30, etc.!

Here are some of the boys! There are my two little ones sitting down.

I had to post this because my husband was like, "Don't take a picture." LOL

After all those sprints, they do football drills.

Here's my friends niece and Veronica walking backwards. If Veronica looks tired, it's because she was complaining about being bored, thirsty, and hungry..lol.

Of course, the highlight for the kids is when they saw these tires on the grass area! You can imagine all the fun they had with these things!

You can see for yourself!

Nobody had the guts to get in the inside of it and roll down the hill!!

  1. What fun! And those big tires are for big man competition (linemen)...they flip them down the field!

  2. You daredevil mom! I hope you didn't try to get the kids to go inside the tires :)

Last summer, I went to our local track...for a month and then stopped. I could not even do a mile which is 4 laps around the track. I think I started going out of breath by the second lap. You did 2.5? That's really, really good!

  4. I should take my lesson from you and start walking (if not jog!) around the track --which is right next door! BUT it's too hot and humid now... excuses, excuses. Maybe when the weather cools down. (I'm pretty sure I'll find another excuse then!) LOL!

  19. I don't know if I would be brave enough to get in the tire either, I would probably puke...lol
That is great that the whole family got in on the workout, I have recently started shopping at the fruit market and we have been eating a lot of fruits and veggies....just the beginnings of the summer time fun.

  25. That reminded me of when I was younger. My cousins and I used to roll down a hill in a tire like that! It was soooo much fun! We were so carefree and pretty much daredevils!

  27. What a cool family outing! I can just see my boys when they were teens getting INTO the wheel to roll it down the hill! We have a steep hill in our side pasture and they used to sit in lawn mowers (took the motor out and sat in the hole) and rode them down the hill, and sometimes they took big tarps when it was VERY windy, and would hold them up and “parachute” down the hill so they were sort of “flying!” LOL BOYS!!!
