WE'RE GOING BACK TO CALI....

I wish I had pictures to post for today, but I have to wait till we get home to upload them to my computer.

We all had a nice visit with my in-laws, and the drive up here went smoothly...kind of! We ended up leaving much later than we wanted to, and we arrived in Nevada at 5:45 a.m.!

One great lesson I learned is to ask my husband if he has his wallet (before we leave)!

Point being....

We were all good to go, and were about 20 minutes away from home. We decide to stop at the store to get some snacks for our 4 1/2 hour drive. When my husband was getting out of the car, he couldn't find his wallet. He gets out to check in the back, and it's not there. So, what do we do? We DRIVE.BACK.HOME. because he "knows" he left it on the entertainment center.

We get home and we all wait in the car. We're expecting him to come out with his wallet. But..no. He can't find it! It dawns on me to check in the center console because it goes deeper than what it seems. Sure enough, it slid to the back! So, we wasted an hour just from that. We could have stayed home and left really early in the morning, but the kids were already impatient.

Finally, my husband couldn't keep his eyes open after driving for an hour, so, guess who gets to drive the last 3.5 hours in THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT?

I didn't think I was going to make it, but I just have to say, thank God for K-LOVE!! I was literally singing worship songs out loud for three hours!

My husband is so driving all the way home today!!

  2. Ya know Alicia, when things like that happen I believe it is a devine interruption because you may have had an accident and that is why you were destined to drive all the way back home for nothing.
I am glad you all had a good time and you are all home safely. Looking forward to pictures.

  11. My husband once left his wallet in Lincoln City, Oregon where we were having dinner and we didn't realize it until we got all the back to our vacation house in Pacific City, Oregon (like an hour away). I made him drive all the way back that very night to get it because I was convinced if he didn't we'd never see it again. He was not a happy camper and made me drive back the second time.

  13. Sadly it has happened to us more than I'd like to admit. And I love your comment about who does the late night driving. I'm usually the one passing out food and beverages, looking at the map and playing the CD's while they drive. When it's my time to drive, everyone is out cold. And usually the snacks are just out of my reach. LOL Glad your weekend was still fun. Way to go K-Love!
