PUMP IT UP!

My kids were invited to a birthday party this past weekend, and I'm so glad that they were able to release some bottled up energy! A couple of my younger ones were under the weather the other day, so I'm glad they were able to get out and go WILD!

The entire time, they just run, jump, & climb!

Photobucket

Yipee! Go back up again!

SCRIPTURE SUNDAY

On Sundays, I decided I would share a scripture(s). I pray that it will be a blessing to whoever reads it!

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."-John 14:6

I GOT YOUR BACK!

We weren't sure how our dog was going to react to our new puppy. There were so many different opinions on how to introduce them to each other, I couldn't believe it! But, we just did what we felt would work, and that was just to bring him in the house and have Mocha take her time to get used to him. I felt kinda sad for her because she is the one used to getting all the attention, and I can tell she's been a little subdued since bringing Junior home. I know eventually she will get used to sharing the spotlight with him, but so far, it looks like she is warming up to him.

What do you think?

FRIDAY PHOTO FLASHBACK

I started "Friday Photo Flashback" because I have so many pictures from my PRE-digital camera days. I thought it would be fun to scan them and share them here with you. I'm having so much fun doing this, that I would love for you to join me, too! So dig out the photo albums and put your scanner to good use! Don't forget to sign in to MckLinky so we can all visit and comment on each others blogs!

Is this picture vintage or what?

This is my grandma and my sister, when she was around 6 or 7 months old. I remember seeing home videos of my grandparents bamboo furniture when I was also a baby, but they eventually transitioned into the 70's floral pattern couch. And how do you like my sisters old school walker? I wonder how safe those were back then?

PERFECT PARK WEATHER

I'm amazed at all the pictures of snow that I see on so many blogs. I can't even imagine snow being out on our front lawn.

The weather here has been so beautiful lately, and I've been meaning to take my kids to the park since last week. So, off we went the other day. It was so nice to get out of the house in flip flops.

Before we went to the actual playground, they played here for awhile. Doesn't it look peaceful?
Photobucket

They were getting annoyed that I kept trying to make them stop for a picture.
Photobucket

At one point, they were all standing on the rocks, and I was just waiting for one of them to lose their balance! Thank goodness that didn't happen.

Brothers...

My fear was that they would fall in that nasty water!

OUR NEW FUR BABY

We were finally able to take Junior home on Sunday afternoon!

He is just sooooooo cute, soft, and TINY, and very playful! He's actually the tiniest of the litter, and the only black one, too. We weren't sure how Mocha was going to act when we brought him home, but surprisingly, she did good. But, I feel kind of bad for her because most of the attention was on Junior (and still is). I'm sure in time, she will totally warm up to him, and hopefully start "mothering" him too.

Isn't he just adorable???? Oh, and don't mind my oldest sons knuckles. That is from punching the punching bag in the garage.

INDOOR PICNIC

Ever since I got my "new" China, my youngest daughter has been asking when we could have a tea party. Since I don't have a cute tablecloth yet, she asked if we could just have a picnic in the living room! I was like, "Sure!" We've done this before, but it has been awhile.

On our menu was egg salad sandwiches, strawberries, grapes, and yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

She was really excited to help. Here she is cutting the strawberries. I kept reminding her to be careful with the knife because they are VERY SHARP. If you have Cutco knives, then you know that you can practically slice your finger just by touching it.
Photobucket

Here is our setup. We are ready to dig in! It was just us girls. I know, such a blurry picture!
Photobucket

My tween is so proper, isn't she?
Photobucket

The yummy cake I made!! Like the decor?
Photobucket

Finally, we told the boys they could join us in the living room. Here they are watching The Brady Bunch. This is their new favorite show. I love Netflix because we are able to watch the shows starting from their first season.
Photobucket

So, next step is for me to find a simple, white tablecloth that we can use for our future tea parties. Next tea I have will include the boys, it's just this time, my daughter wanted it to be "girl time."

SCRIPTURE SUNDAY

On Sundays, I decided I would share a scripture(s). I pray that it will be a blessing to whoever reads it!

"And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God."- 1 John 5:11-13

HERE I AM TO WORSHIP

I love when my older two kids play & sing Praise & Worship music on their guitars. It's such a blessing to hear them praising the Lord that way. Lately, my oldest daughter has been writing her own music, and just the other night, she came out with her notepad so I could listen to part of a new song she wrote. I hope they never get tired of playing their guitars.

Doesn't this have the 70's written all over it? From my mom's huge glasses, my dad's shirt, and to the sales guy's ensemble? So retro!

Can you believe I am the one who took this picture? I was probably around 9 years old at the time, and my parents were shopping for a Kodak Polaroid camera. I'm assuming the sales guy wanted to show how easy it was to use by letting me take the picture.

My dad was always into the newest gadgets, so having this picture does not surprise me at all!

I HEART FACES-"BUNDLED UP"

This week’s photo challenge theme is: “Bundled Up”

I had to really search for a picture for this week because although we did have some really cold days in California, I don't have that many pictures of my kids "bundled up." I was glad that my husband took this picture with his cell phone back in October. You can see how red my son's cheeks were from it being so cold outside. I thought this was perfect!

LOVE LETTER?

One of my good friends has a daughter who has been crushing on my son, Eli, for the last couple of years. It's kind of funny to say that considering he's only 9, and she's 8 years old. They recently came back to our church, so she gets to see him every week now. About a month ago, she gave this note to him after church, and I think it's the SWEETEST little letter.

I think it's adorable, and so innocent. He, of course, didn't say much about it. But, I'm keeping it because it will be fun to look back at this letter 20 years from now.

Photobucket

It says:

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." Luke 19:10.

Will you be my friend for now Eli. I love you of course like a brother.

Love love love Rebekah!!!!!!!

FUDGILICIOUS!

I love entering giveaways that people have on their blogs. I have to admit though, that I will enter in the ones that are easy. Three, maybe four rules tops, and I'm happy! I almost always expect not to win, because really, what are the chances? So when I do win, I get really excited. It's like I won the lottery!!

I was especially excited about this giveaway because it had to do with fudge! I'm not a chocoholic, but my husband and kids are. I really wanted to win, and I DID!! YOOHOO!

Thank you, Natalie, for your Rosa's Fudge giveaway.

I received the 6 piece case, and I wanted you to see how thick these pieces were! You just don't pop those bad boys in your mouth!
Photobucket

I unwrapped all of them, and decided to cut them into small pieces so everyone could try them out.

Thank you, Miranda for the great shots, again!

MAY 2001

This is a picture from a Women's Tea that we had at church, when we lived in Hawaii.

I was a baby Christian, and was still intimidated by the fellowship with other Christian women. The women at the church were wonderful, and I'm so glad that that was the first solid church we attended when my husband and I got saved.

I am carrying Miranda, and my sister is standing next to me. Sitting down are my sisters friends, who we sat at the table with.

I will never forget this day, because I didn't feed Miranda before we left that morning. I was thinking we were going to eat as soon as we got there. Little did I know about the worship first, and then a short message. So, after about an hour, Miranda is STARVING, and by the time it was time to eat, she had zero interest in cucumber sandwiches. She literally GAGGED when she took a bite of it. Thank goodness there was a mini store a couple of doors down, so I took her in there to get something in her tummy. And, can you believe the only thing I found edible was a candy bar? I had no choice but to feed her a Hershey's bar. So, here is my poor five year old, starving, gagging, and dry heaving right outside of church! I laugh now thinking about it, but back then, I told myself that I was not taking her to anymore tea's!

44/52 PICTURES OF ME-FRIENDSHIP

I'm participating in a year long challenge, created by Carin at Forever In Blue Jeans. The goal is to be in one picture a week, for 52 weeks. Alright...8 more pictures to go!!!! I can't believe I even made it this far. This meme is not as easy as it seems! I highly encourage any of you to just get behind any shot that you can. As corny as you feel sometimes, it is worth it!

Here's one of my good friends, Mary and me, on the morning our girls went to Jr. High camp. She's one of those friends that I can laugh with all day. You know, those kinds of friends that crack up at the same things you do, that nobody else gets? She's that person!

Please excuse the funky glare on my glasses!

ONE MAN'S JUNK...

Is another man's treasure!

That is so true!

My oldest daughter needed/wanted snow boots for Jr. High camp, and since I could not justify spending money on something she would wear for only two days, I decided that I would go to a couple of thrift stores first, to see if they had anything there.

There are two thrift stores very close to my house, and one I had been to only once before. I know that people are always finding great deals, but I had no intentions of looking for anything else besides the boots.

Until....

I stumbled upon the "houseware" section where they had shelves of China.

Normally, I would just pass on by because I have never been into anything like that. EVER. But, I remembered that my friend (the one who has the girls teas at her house) found some pieces from this same thrift store. We started looking, and I actually got excited over some of the plates, bowls, and cups! Imagine that! They were all selling for $1.99 a piece!

I'm not an expert when it comes to fine China, so I just started picking out pieces that appealed to me. I also recalled Rachel Ashwell from Shabby Chic saying that not everything has to match.

What I ended up buying was:

6 Dinner Plates (2 different designs)
6 Dessert Plates
6 Salad/Soup Bowls
1 Cup for Cream/Milk
1 Sugar Container
8 Tea Cups

Grand Total: $61!

So, check out what I got, and tell me what you think!!

This is Mikasa's Rose Mist collection.
Photobucket

I love it!
Photobucket

The dinner plate on the bottom is Carlton "Corsage" pattern, and the smaller plate is Prestige from China Garden.
Photobucket

And here are some random cups that I got, too. I still need to go back and get a couple of more settings. My girls were really excited, and now they can't wait to have a "formal" tea party!
Photobucket

My husband was SHOCKED that I was so happy about this because he knows this is/was so not me! I'm so ready to go back there and get more!
