Friday Photo Flashback

I started "Friday Photo Flashback" because I have so many pictures from my PRE-digital camera days. I thought it would be fun to scan them and share them here with you. I'm having so much fun doing this, that I would love for you to join me, too! So dig out the photo albums and put your scanner to good use! Don't forget to link up so we can all visit and comment on each others blogs!

OH MY GOSH!

I can't believe I'm actually posting this picture!!!

Ewwwwww!!!! I have NO IDEA why my face had that expression on it. I look psycho!

BUT, hey, this was 23...yes, TWENTY-THREE years ago, and I just got off work and went to visit my boyfriend (now husband) at his parents house. Doesn't he look thrilled to see me? Well, according to my oldest daughter, we both look weird! Ha!

This picture brings back memories of his parents old house, and how many times we would hang out there. Good times.

Holy Cannoli!

Yes..those words almost came out of my mouth when I took a bite (or two) of these bad boys!

My husband used to work this man (older gentleman) who has a bakery...an Italian bakery. He would tell my husband how good his cannoli's were, and that he would bring him some one day.

Well, he got the call, and sure enough, he gave us a dozen of the best cannoli's I've ever eaten!

This is a true blue, Sicilian recipe! The shell was light and flaky, and the the filling was creamy, and not too sweet! This recipe was handed down to him from his mother, and the only changes he made to it was the quality of cheese he uses.

And they must be good if he sells these for $4 a pop!

I know these pictures don't do these any justice! This is what he served my husband at his house!

When the kids and I got home, my husband had already stuffed them, and plated it for us like his friend told him to. LOL! I know they filling doesn't look appetizing at all in my picture, but let me just repeat myself one more time. THEY WERE DELICIOUS!!

Wordful Wednesday

I have to admit...my husband takes better pictures than I do! He always seems to get that right angle! And all he uses is his cell phone (iPhone4).

This is my favorite so far!!

52 Food Adventures! A 2012 Challenge!

I'm so excited I came across this new challenge in one of the blogs that I follow!

The challenge is to try at least 52 new foods this year! It can be as simple as changing a recipe, to ordering something you've never tried at a restaurant. The options are limitless, and that's why I love it! Plus, I get to try different things! If you're like me, I'm one of those people who order the SAME THING wherever I go! I'm too scared to venture out just in case I'm disappointed. Well, this gives me the opportunity to just go for it!

Now, I played it pretty safe for the first week! We went to the Olive Garden for dinner, and instead of ordering my usual Fettucini Alfredo with shrimp, I opted for this.

I wish I could remember the name (I even tried looking for it on their online menu), but I think it's a new dish. It's ravioli stuffed with crab and shrimp in a cream sauce. There's also an abundance of baby shrimp, and diced tomato on top. It was very tasty, and I'm glad I tried something different!

And please excuse the dark picture! I didn't have my regular camera, and took this with my cell!

If you want to join in on the fun, just link up every Tuesday!!

I'm Over The Christmas Baking

This was my last and final Christmas themed baked good!

I bought this super duper cute cardboard cupcake stand at Tarjay, and I didn't get the chance to use it around Christmas. I baked too many cookies, and I didn't have the room or desire to bake anything else. My kids even requested for me to stop baking!! Unbelievable! I knew I didn't want to hold on to this till next year, so I just sucked it up and baked one last time!

It is adorable, isn't it?!

HELLO 2012!

I hope you all had a nice and safe New Year's Eve!

I still can't believe how fast this year flew by!

When I reflect on 2011, I can see how God's hand moved in our family's life, and blessed us so much.

He really does take care of your every need...big or small.

We celebrated the New Year with good friends, and delicious food!

What more could one ask for?

Well, except seconds of this succulent prime rib!
