On Sundays, I usually post something random. Besides doing that, I decided I will share a scripture with you all. I pray that it will be a blessing to whoever reads it!
But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and all we are the work of Your hand.-Isaiah 64:8

CAN I GO TO MY FRIENDS HOUSE?
I wanted to know what you all do when your kids ask, "Can I go to my friends house?"
I'm not talking about a friend who's family you know personally, and totally trust with your child(ren). I'm referring to the new friend they made at Sunday school (or even just regular school).
Yes, this kid seems nice, and so does the mom (who I've met on a few occasions). I briefly met the dad (who wasn't overly friendly), but I don't want to judge him for that reason. They have older kids who are my older kids ages, however they don't hang out together.
My point is, my youngest son Daniel has a friend in his Sunday school class. They get along really well, and he has invited him to come over after church. We don't know the parents well at all. They are new to our church, and all I really know about them is that they have four kids and also homeschool.
I don't live by "fear", and I don't want to assume that they are a bunch of freaks, but part of my motherly instincts tells me to not to let him go. I don't know if it's God giving me discernment, or I've heard one too many horror stories.
At first, I told her that he could go over there (Eli was going to go too), but after talking to my husband last night, he's going to suggest to them that we all go to lunch to get to know each other better. This way, we can get a "feel" about them and their family.
Am I over reacting?
How do you handle situations like this? I'm curious to know.

FRIDAY PHOTO FLASHBACK
I started "Friday Photo Flashback" because I have so many pictures from my PRE-digital camera days. I thought it would be fun to scan them and share them here with you. I'm having so much fun doing this, that I would love for you to join me, too! So dig out the photo albums and put your scanner to good use! Don't forget to sign in to MckLinky so we can all visit and comment on each others blogs!I think my husband was super cute when he was little!! Surprisingly, I'm not sure which one of my boys resembles him the most. I know which one is the most like him as far as personality goes, but I think they each have a feature of his and/or mannerism.
He was five years old here, and obviously with some friends from his soccer team. Isn't it funny how kids will choose a name for what is popular at the moment?
And if you're not sure which one he is, he is the one in the middle.

32/52 PICTURES OF ME
I'm participating in a year long challenge, created by Carin at Forever In Blue Jeans. The goal is to be in one picture a week, for 52 weeks. Since us moms are always behind the camera, this gives us a chance to get out in front and be in the pictures with our family. So, click here if you want to join in on the fun!

WORDFUL WEDNESDAY
I love to bake!
Even more than I like to cook a meal.
I don't always bake from scratch, but that's okay.
Still tastes as delicious!
Veronica requested cupcakes for her soccer team on her birthday, so I happily obliged!
Thank you Duncan Hines, and also to my handy dandy frosting tool (that I used for the first time).
I wanted to make them look as "professional" as I could, verses the spreading of the frosting with a spoon.

And this is how they turned out! Pretty good, eh?
Mmmm!! They were yummy!
And here is part of her team singing "Happy Birthday" to her after their game.

BIRTHDAY/HARVEST FUN!
Veronica's birthday/Harvest Festival turned out to be a fun night!
I love that I get to kill two birds with one stone (for now at least).
After her soccer game in the morning, her team sang Happy Birthday to her, and at the Harvest Festival, they sang it to her in the gym and in the cafe. What a blessing!
She was a happy little girl all day!

There always has to be an Elvis, right? Of course, I had to take a picture of her with them! Veronica decided she wanted to wear her soccer uniform, so that made it easy for me!
Love the face painting. See the little girl in the back? Her and Veronica have the same birthday!
Our friends son, Ryan, who is really a football stud, Miranda the bumble bee, and her friend Phylicia.
Darth Vader was the HIGHLIGHT for everyone! He was perfect for it. He's already a tall guy, so with the helmet on, it made him at least 6'6! And, there are my two boys. Dr. Eli, and Ninja!
Her birthday table I set up in the cafe.
My friends daughter on the far right has liked my son Eli for the last few years. So cute!
Look how happy she is as everyone is singing Happy Birthday to her!

GIRLS NIGHT OUT
My mom wanted to take my my girls and I out to dinner on Friday so we could have a "girls night out." This was the night before Veronica's birthday, so it was a great way to start her weekend! She got to choose where she wanted to eat, and ONCE AGAIN, we ended up at Macaroni Grill.
We had great food, a relaxing dinner, and spent almost an hour at Wal-Mart afterward. Perfect way to walk off our meal!

My mom and the girls. Everyone says that Veronica looks just like her.
Miranda & Veronica enjoying their strawberry Italian soda. Cheers!
Miranda also enjoyed her mozzarella cheese appetizer.
We also enjoyed our fried calamari. Seasoned just right!
I always order the same thing, but this time I ordered the lobster ravioli. It had a nutty, buttery flavor. The asparagus was cooked just right. Perfect crunch, combined with the soft ravioli and shrimp.
My mom ordered the salmon. I had it there years ago and it is really good.
And, just like Mac Grill style, the waiters sang Happy Birthday to her in Italian. Here she is, saying she's 6 years old now! Don't you love her fashion sense? She wrapped her play necklaces around her wrists for bracelets.

SCRIPTURE SUNDAY
On Sundays, I usually post something random. I decided that instead of doing that, I will share a scripture. I pray that it will be a blessing to whoever reads it!
Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.-2 Thessalonians 3:16
