"I DO..."

My husband and I attending a wedding this past weekend for a young couple who have been going to our church for years, and are very involved in ministry. They are both adorable, and literally, NOBODY saw this relationship coming. It was totally the Lord that brought them together! It's been amazing to witness how Jesus is truly the center of their relationship, and also how much love and respect they have for each other.

It was so cute to see how he was getting choked up when she walked down the aisle. There were so many women (including myself) getting teary eyed during that moment. It was beautiful!

My camera takes the worst pictures in the sanctuary, so excuse the grainy/blurry photos you are about to see.

Here is their wedding party, and I believe this was the moment before she walked in!

I think this was the most AMAZING part of the ceremony. To show the example of Christ's love, they both did the washing of the feet (just as Jesus washed His disciples' feet)! I mean..seriously..that has to be the most humbling experience and act of love anyone can do for somebody else, and especially at your own wedding! And you could see that they were doing it with gladness in their hearts. Wow, what a way to start off your marriage, right? So awesome!

Here he is washing her feet.

And now she is washing his.

Here is a picture of the couple. These were the favors to take home from the reception. It was framed and everything. Can you not see the joy in their faces?

What was also wonderful to see was how the church body came together for this couple, and helped with everything from the food to their wedding cake. I love to see people blessed this way. There's a lady at our church who I refer to as "Martha Stewart," because she can bake up a storm without breaking a sweat. Well, instead of a traditional cake, they had about six cheesecakes that she made, and it was delicious! I should have taken a picture of the entire table, and how beautiful they had it set up, but you get the idea!

There is nothing like a wedding to remind us of our vows with our own spouses and feel the tenderness of new love to spur us on. Just beautiful!

That is a huge wedding party! You can see how in love they are. I remember those days...almost! I am always telling Oscar how much I miss my boyfriend, he was awesome - not like this selfish, unromantic jerk I married. I kid, I kid. One reason I love him is that he gets my jokes, even when I am hinting for real!

what a sweet couple. i pray they always
keep the 'washing each other's feet'
mentality.

so sad that few people seem to be able to.

we have a bible study to encourage old
married couples to continue in their
love...
