OUR WEEKEND IN NEVADA!

We had such a nice, relaxing time in Nevada. This was probably one of the funnest visits we've had. I think too, because my younger kids are a little older now, and not so "baby-ish."

Despite the time we arrived, we all got up pretty early to start the day.

Here is my in-laws cute house! They sold their house in California a few years back, and totally downsized to a one story since it was just the two of them. This is where they chose to retire. It is a very small town, but perfect for them.

See the gray mini van? My sister in-law accidentally rented that for us! She wasn't sure if our Suburban was in great working condition to drive there, so she was browsing on one of those websites where you make an offer, and if they accept it, you are bound to it!

Totally worked for us! We loved driving a new van, plus it had a DVD player! My kids were beyond stoked!

Here they are in the cul-de-sac, just tossing a football around.

Danny, Veronica, and my sis in-law hanging out on the swing!

Of course, this is how the boys play with their uncle!

Here is the local pool in town. The kids swam on both days, and on the 4th, there was hardly anyone there!

This was the highlight at the pool! You can see Veronica on the right side, about to fall into the 12 ft. area!

Love my Danny boy!

On Saturday night, my father in-law took all of us out to dinner at a local restaurant/casino.

Here's what my husband ordered! Prime rib dip!

I, of course, ordered a mushroom burger!

Here are the kids with their cousin Jessie (Jessica). She's so sweet.

4th of July!

That morning, their town had a parade, so we checked that out for a bit.

That afternoon, my father in-law bbq'd burgers & hot dogs. For dessert, strawberry shortcake.

My mother in-law had foot surgery, so that is why she is in a wheel chair. I wanted to take a shot of her and her boys carrying her back in the house. It was easier than her going all the way around the house.

I had to take a picture of them with my cell phone. Here are the "HAPPY" kids on the way home! I think they just got in trouble (that explains the gloom on their faces). LOL! I think they were fighting because someone was touching somebody else, and so on, and so on! And what they're looking at is the DVD player (in case you're wondering).

After going through tons of traffic, our 4.5 hour drive home was actually 6! But, it was all good since the kids had movies to watch the entire way. And we were happy to come home to our puppies!!

First of all, that was so thoughtful of your inlaws to rent the mini van. Secondly, the swimming pool slides look so fun. I bet the kids had a great time there! Thirdly (and may sound dumb), I didn't know driving to Nevada was a shorter distance than LA. My geography is really off!!

How fun! That indoor pool is sooo cool - wish we had a water slide like that on ours! What a funny van story - at least you had entertainment!!!!!

Lots of great memories - family, food and fun although I could probably do without the 6 hour car ride ;)

The pic of them all in the car with frowns and their arms folded in front of them made me laugh!!! It's not officially a road trip until the kids are all unhappy about one thing or another!

Looks like you all had a great time...love the slides at the pool!

Welcome home!!
