Holy Cannoli!

Yes..those words almost came out of my mouth when I took a bite (or two) of these bad boys!

My husband used to work this man (older gentleman) who has a bakery...an Italian bakery. He would tell my husband how good his cannoli's were, and that he would bring him some one day.

Well, he got the call, and sure enough, he gave us a dozen of the best cannoli's I've ever eaten!

This is a true blue, Sicilian recipe! The shell was light and flaky, and the the filling was creamy, and not too sweet! This recipe was handed down to him from his mother, and the only changes he made to it was the quality of cheese he uses.

And they must be good if he sells these for $4 a pop!

I know these pictures don't do these any justice! This is what he served my husband at his house!

When the kids and I got home, my husband had already stuffed them, and plated it for us like his friend told him to. LOL! I know they filling doesn't look appetizing at all in my picture, but let me just repeat myself one more time. THEY WERE DELICIOUS!!

Hmmm, you know, cannolis are the only dessert that I don't enjoy - mostly because the ones that I've tried have had hard as rock shells! But you're saying these were light and flaky, huh? Hmmm... if I were there, I'd give it a try, but I'm not, so I'll remain skeptical! ;-) LOL!
