Another reason is that I'm the "nice, pushover" type of adult to the kids! Seriously, I'm not always the enforcer of the rules, and it would be hard for me to find that balance.
But, one of the main reasons I couldn't teach, is that I would get too attached to the kids, and I would be balling at the end of the year at their graduation ceremonies!
One of my favorite kinders is this sweet little boy named Andrik! He is just adorable, and always excited when he stays for a full day (because he gets to eat in the lunch room). Well, he and his mom are moving out of the country, and his last day is Friday. I'm not even his teacher, but I see him everyday when I do yard duty, and help in the lunchroom.
I see his mom every morning, and on her way out yesterday, she hands me this...
I love my job so much!!!!!
That is the sweetest card and gift ever! I get too attached too quickly to little ones, too. (Lots of TOO in that sentence.) It goes to show how much you've made an impact in his life and how he treasures meeting you. =) It'll definitely be difficult to say goodbye... for both of you.
how precious!! I couldn't be a teacher either for the exact reasons you listed! btw - the handwriting on that card is so beautiful! :)
i love little people, too. That's one of my dream to teach preschoolers...
That was so sweet of his mom...and just how much the kiddos at your school love you:) I'm so glad you are loving your job!
How lovely to be appreciated!
I never thought I could stand to be in a room full of kids and now I'm a substitute teacher and love it!
So sweet! We've been so very blessed with the teachers Sam has had the last couple of years.
That is SOOO sweet!!! And I have a feeling WELL deserved! :)
How sweet! You clearly meant a lot to them as well. So glad this new job/school has worked out so perfectly for your family.
Such a beautiful thing:)
its precious thing!
I was a teacher for 7 years. I loved it. Being in a school environment is such a special place. I am so glad you are there. You never know what is going on at home, and you may never, ever know how much you matter in the life of a child. But God knows. I am glad you are loving your new job.
