The Weekend With Good Friends

Earlier this year we had a wonderful "baycation" with our best friends.

It started off with dinner at The House Of Prime Rib. They've never been there, so it was fun to see them totally enjoy it!!

It was our first time staying at The Palace Hotel and it was absolutely gorgeous! They had champagne and chocolates in our room when we arrived, and the room was so comfy and huge.

I loved the ceiling!

After breakfast, we headed to the Coit Tower steps. What a great way to work up our appetite again!

One of my favorite places to have lunch is at The 21st Ammendment. The food there is so fresh and delicious!

Work & Play

I love going to the city (San Francisco), whether it be for a day, or staying overnight with my husband.

This particular time (awhile back), was just a day trip, and my husband and I walked up these somewhat popular steps that have a killer view, and afterward he took me to one of his projects that was pretty much completed.

See behind us? Those are called the 16th Ave Tiled Steps.

Even though there was overcast, the view was still wonderful!

This project has been long completed, but here is the outside of the building. It used to be Avalon Music Hall, and now it's ad agency called Argonaut

I wish I still had the pictures when this place was first gutted. It was amazing to see the difference from before and after! This place is huge. Three big stories!

Being Patriotic

For this 4th of July, I decided that I wanted all of us to match!

I don't think they've worn these shirts since this day.

15 Years Strong

Every year my husband says he's done coaching.

Um, that was 15 years ago?

I don't know if he'll stop even when our youngest daughter stops playing!

Couins Reunite

I've been posting a lot of old pictures from this year. I realized once again that I have so many pictures, and I don't want to forget certain moments.

One special one was back in March when my sister and her family were here for a little visit from Hawaii. They had plans to go to SoCal, so we only saw them for a couple of days.

The great thing about our relationship (as well as our kids), is that we can just pick up where we left off. What a blessing!

Having dinner with them the night they arrived.

Monterey

It's funny how my blog has started to evolve once my kids started getting older. It was so much easier when they were younger to take pictures of them (pre-camera phone), and document all the things they did. Now that my husband and I go on frequent dates, many of my pictures are of him and I. Either way, I don't want to stop documenting moments that are/were special to us.

On a random date night a few months ago, we headed to Monterey. It's rare we head out this way, but I'm glad we did. This is definitely going to be where we have our next staycation!

Hubby's Birthday

What can be better than going out to dinner on your birthday?

The dessert, of course!

Nothing comes close to the burnt almond cake at Peter's Bakery!

Got Our Funk On

There's a restaurant in Oakland that also has a venue for live concerts. Occasionally I will look at their website to see if there's anyone my husband and I would want to see. I saw that Con Funk Shun was playing there soon, so we decided to make it another date night! If you eat at the restaurant before the concert, they will reserve seats for you. It was perfect. We didn't have to feel "rushed" to finish dinner!

We started with Hamachi "Crudo," which is sliced yellowtail & mango, jalapeno, fresh ginger, crispy garlic chips & warm panzu. Delicious!

My husband enjoyed his Angus Beef Ribeye. I tried it, and it melted in my mouth!

I also enjoyed my Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon. Perfect & light!

We don't ever skip dessert.
