Our Annual Valentine's Getaway

It seems like a tradition now, that my husband and I always go on a "baycation" every Valentine's Day! And for some reason, we are always drawn to the city! I think it's the night lights, the sounds, the food, and feeling far, but still close to home! But, not only that, you can go anywhere in the city and not have to be dressed up..lol! Not that I don't like to, but it's way more fun to eat in comfy clothes!!

We wanted to try an Italian restaurant we have never been to before, so we decided to check out Trattoria Contandina. Not a huge place, either. If we took our kids, we would take up a third of the restaurant, lol. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and we will definitely be back!

This was us after we played tourist in the city! We headed to dinner after this.

The bread was so good. Or, we could have been starving!

Walker Stalker Con

My family and I are total Walking Dead fans!! I never thought I would get into this kind of show, but after watching the first couple of episodes, I was hooked!! 

So, can you imagine the excitement when we found out that we were going to Walker Stalker Con in San Francisco! Just knowing we were going to see some of the actors from that show face to face was unreal!

Just Another Date Night

I guess we frequent this restaurant a lot! But, what can I say...the prime rib is the bomb!!!

I don't want to lose all these memories that we have built over time! This was last year in August for my birthday. 

The next day we ate at 21st Amendment before we headed home!

 

Good Eats

My husband and I love to try new places to eat! When a restaurant has good reviews, and the menu is appealing to us, we will totally try it out at least once!

This place did not disappoint. I've read reviews about Bobo's in San Francisco, and I knew we had to go!

It wasn't in the middle of a busy area, so it was easy to get to, and made early reservations! The pictures are a little dark because the restaurant is dimly lit. Makes it romantic!

We started with Lobster Soup which was creamy and delicious!

I love going to the city (San Francisco), whether it be for a day, or staying overnight with my husband.

This particular time (awhile back), was just a day trip, and my husband and I walked up these somewhat popular steps that have a killer view, and afterward he took me to one of his projects that was pretty much completed.

See behind us? Those are called the 16th Ave Tiled Steps.

Even though there was overcast, the view was still wonderful!

This project has been long completed, but here is the outside of the building. It used to be Avalon Music Hall, and now it's ad agency called Argonaut. 

I wish I still had the pictures when this place was first gutted. It was amazing to see the difference from before and after! This place is huge. Three big stories!

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA

My mother-in-law, who lives in Nevada, was here visiting for the weekend. She stayed at my sister-in-laws on Friday and Saturday, and spent the day and night here on Sunday. Yesterday, she had plans to take a tour in San Francisco. She grew up close to the city, so she always had a desire to go back. She says she could even picture herself living there! My father-in-law, however is the total opposite. He'd probably rather live in a run down shack in the sticks than live there. In fact, he doesn't even like going there just for the sights. So, since she was here by herself for the weekend, she decided she would pay to have a guided tour! She already did some research on her own and knew which company she would go with. All I had to do was call to reserve it for her and drive her to the bart station in the morning that would take her to the city. My husband works in San Francisco, so he walked over to where she got off on bart to make sure she made it okay. After work, he met her back at the same place where she was dropped off at the end of the tour so they could take bart home together. I let her borrow my camera since she forgot hers at home, and she took some really great shots! I'll just share a couple of the more popular "landmarks" that is widely known around the world. So, in case you never get to travel to the West Coast, here are some pictures of a very foggy morning in San Francisco, Californ..I-A!
