IT'S LOOKING MORE LIKE CHRISTMAS...

We got our tree a few days ago, and I thought I'd share with you some of our Christmas decor. I'm not done yet because I do need to decorate our entertainment center and shelf in the living room. But, here is what we have done for now.

One of my favorite ornaments.

I don't remember which one of my kids made this.

I love our Disney ornaments! One box I bought on Disney.com a few years back, and the other, from our friends when they went to Disney. They are so colorful.

I also got these Mickey & Minnie stockings when we only had the two older kids. Love them!

We love the Noble Firs. Our tree is perfect this year. No, we didn't go up into the mountains to chop one down. My husband got it from Costco...lol (but it is real). Oh, and my son is standing on a chair. The tree is not as tall as him.

So, there ya go!!! Hope you liked it!

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS TEA

This past Saturday, our church had the Children's Christmas Tea. It was awesome, just like last year. They have crafts on the tables for the kids, games for everyone to participate in, the Children's Choir sang a couple of songs, we all sang a couple of Christmas worship songs, watched a puppet show, had a message from our Pastor about the true meaning of this holiday, and of course, food! It's such a great time for everyone, and it's all done in two hours!

Here was the centerpiece on all the tables. We won ours! Isn't it cute?

A sample of the finger foods. And no, I did not eat those three scones! My friend didn't want hers and put them on my plate. They were so good! It's so funny because my kids are not sandwich eaters. They kept asking if I could take them to McDonald's afterward.

I stole this picture from my friends Facebook. These are the kids getting ready for the puppet show. Our Children's Ministry leaders go above and beyond. They are such a huge blessing to us!

I really wanted to take a picture of all of them smiling. Miranda is being sarcastic here because I told her to smile, and she just raised her eyebrows. My boys kept asking when they could take their sweaters off. I told them they could after I was done taking all the pictures I needed. Aren't they cute? I got them at The Children's Place. Oh, and if you noticed, my oldest son is not in the picture. Can I just say, "Drama?" Well, he was taking FOREVER AND A DAY just to get ready, so I just left him at home. No worries, he's old enough to stay home by himself.

Here they are with their buddies.

Yay, there's a smile! Such a "tween!"

SCRIPTURE SUNDAY

On Sundays, I usually post something random. But, besides doing that, I decided I will share a scripture with you all. I pray that it will be a blessing to whoever reads it!

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it
spring the issues of life.-Proverbs 4:23

MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!

After seeing all these cookies being baked on so many of your blogs, I got the itch to do homemade chocolate chip cookies too! This time, though, I added mint chips as well. I LOVE mint and chocolate chip together!

My three little ones were more than eager to help, and all I had to do was designate who was doing what. This way, it cuts down on all the fighting and whining.

I'm a copycat, and had to take a picture of some of the ingredients I was using (like everyone else does).

I used the good ole' Nestle Toll House Cookie mix on the bag plus my mint chips.

This was after Veronica put the butter in the bowl.

Yes, I know, I skipped a few steps, but here they are!!! They were all gone that night! And if you notice they are semi-flat. I need new baking soda! But, they were so good!

FRIDAY PHOTO FLASHBACK

I started "Friday Photo Flashback" because I have so many pictures from my PRE-digital camera days. I thought it would be fun to scan them and share them here with you. I'm having so much fun doing this, that I would love for you to join me, too! So dig out the photo albums and put your scanner to good use! Don't forget to sign in to MckLinky so we can all visit and comment on each others blogs!

Christmas 1976

Since it's December, I thought I would do all Christmas Flashbacks! Isn't that fun? I had a hard time picking four of them, but I think I ended up choosing the ones that are very special to me.

I will start off with the token "Santa and me picture." Here is one of me when I was probably around 7 or 8 years old. I wish I could remember the exact year. I'm pretty sure this was taken at the Navy Exchange in Moffett Field. Gotta love Mrs. Claus!

Photobucket

I also have one of my husband, and he looks to be around the same age as I was. Aww..so cute!

35/52 PICTURES OF ME

I'm participating in a year long challenge, created by Carin at Forever In Blue Jeans. The goal is to be in one picture a week, for 52 weeks. Since us moms are always behind the camera, this gives us a chance to get out in front and be in the pictures with our family. So, click here if you want to join in on the fun!

This is Daniel and I in between soccer games during the tournament weekend. You can tell by his expression that he is just tired of taking pictures.

WORDFUL WEDNESDAY

I love this picture! Veronica really took to this little boy Adam, and was holding his hand almost the entire time we were at the park. This was a beautiful day last summer.
