WORDLESS & WORDFUL WEDNESDAY

California weather is unpredictable.

The past couple of weeks have been scorching hot.

Last Saturday, our kids played soccer in 100 degree weather. There was no hint of fall in the air.

But, just a couple of days later, we're freezing our tails off at my son's soccer game.

My kids went from wearing shorts and t-shirts, to this...in just a matter of days.

What can be better than homemade chocolate chip cookies, straight out of the oven?

When you put it in a bowl with mint chocolate chip ice cream, of course!! That's what!

WORDFUL & WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

I love this picture! I think it' s because she was being silly (I know, you probably can't tell that). You know how we just know our own kids and their personalities? She's actually sticking her tummy out, but I cropped it so I can get a better close up of her little face!! Oh, and if her lips look a little pink, they are. We had a little "make up and hair day." I let her dab on a little bit of lipstick and I flat ironed her hair! She's such a girl!!!

WORDFUL & WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

I WILL MISS YOU...

You have been with me for over two years now.

You helped me see when nobody else could.

I didn't realize how much I depended on you till I couldn't use you anymore.

Even though you will be replaced very soon, I will never forget you...

Photobucket

My glasses got knocked off the bathroom counter while I was blow drying my hair! I won't be able to drive in the evening till I get a replacement..lol!

I have an eye appointment next week (since I'm overdue for a new exam). I'm debating whether or not to go back to contact lenses!!!!

WORDFUL & WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

That is my sons buddy, Freddy on the far left. He spent the night at our house a couple of weeks ago, so he had to go with us to our dentist appointment. I just love how they are all entertaining themselves with the rubber gloves while we wait!! KIDS!

WORDFUL & WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

All my kids love to make goofy faces. It's funny because my little ones will make the same faces my older ones did when they were their age! I remember one night at Chili's, Eli was around five years old, and he kept making one face after another. It was so hilarious! So, I'm not surprised when Veronica starts to make hers too at these random times! I'm glad I had my camera when we went to dinner with my in-laws! Here are the many "faces" of Veronica!

CONTEMPLATIVE
"I HAVE NO TEETH"
"I'M GONNA GET CHA!"
"OH NO YOU DIDN'T!"
"SEE MY BICEP?"
ROCK Y BALBOA!

WORDFUL & WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

My son, Daniel decided he finally liked skateboarding! It's not that he didn't before, it's just he never really tried it.

The youth pastor gave my eldest son a skateboard a long time ago and it just sits in his closet. Well, my husband told my Daniel (my almost 7 year old) to bring it to church Friday night, and as you can see, he caught on pretty quick....until the little "oops" at the end!

And no worries, he was totally fine! Just like the trooper he is, he got right up and went for it again!

WORDLESS & WORDFUL WEDNESDAY

I think we have another little artist in the family!

This is one of the many art projects my kids did at day camp at our church last week. Isn't it beautiful? I think she did an awesome job!

WORDLESS & WORDFUL WEDNESDAY

I'm sure I'm not the only parent who loves it when their children play nicely together, or lovingly share their things with each other. Living in peace and harmony is my goal! Am I being unrealistic? I think not. Okay, maybe a little!

What do you do if one of your kids gives something away (to their brother or sister) that they don't want anymore, and then later change their mind?

Do you...

1. Tell the receiver to just give it back?

2. Tell the giver, "Oh well...you should think about it next time you give something away?"

or...

3. Just let the two handle it on their own?

For example, we had extra cardboard boxes so Eli was all excited to make something out of them. Well, Veronica wanted a box too, so to be fair, we told Eli to give her one. Anyway, she ended up giving the box to Eli because she didn't want it anymore, but then later that night, she decided she wanted it back!

You can see how that all went down! Of course, the pictures are totally blurry since there was so much "action" going on!

Photobucket

All you could hear was,

It's mine!

No, it's mine!!

No, it's mine!!!

It's miiiiiiine!!!!

Nooooo, it's miiiiiine!!!!!

Photobucket

Who do you think got to keep "THE BOX?"

How do you think I resolved this problem?

The first person to guess correctly will be the winner of this box!

I'M KIDDING!

WORDLESS & WORDFUL WEDNESDAY

WE'RE ON TOP OF THE WORLD!!!

Well, not really, the hill was only about 15 feet up!

If you recall, I took a picture just like this a few weeks ago, but it was with my cell phone. Even though it came out okay, I knew that this shot would be way better with my camera.

This was right after the kids and I had a picnic at the park for my daughter's birthday, and they wanted to climb up the same hill! I told them pose the same way they did the last time! I know..I'm so original!

WORDLESS & WORDFUL WEDNESDAY

I love how this picture came out! I know it's not the best technically, but I just love how you can't really tell where he's at..LOL! Well, maybe you can! I showed this picture to one of my friends and she knew where it was right away!

I'm curious..can you guess where this photo was taken?

Okay..give up? It was a restaurant called Hometown Buffet!

WORDLESS & WORDFUL WEDNESDAY

This is a picture that my friend took when they all went camping last weekend. Four of the guys and my daughter, Miranda, climbed up a steep trail on the side of that cliff and they all took turns jumping off it, which was approximately 35 feet down! Apparently, my friends (the girls) didn't know that my daughter had no fear of heights, and they thought she was going to get in trouble by my husband for jumping off. Of course, the guys that were up there with her were totally encouraging her to do it...lol. She was totally not in trouble! My husband was like, "Wow, Miranda!!" But, just so you know, our friends waited right there at the water to make sure she was okay!

See my girl in the middle of the picture??? She rocks! You go, girl!

WORDLESS & WORDFUL WEDNESDAY

ONE DOWN, FOUR TO GO!!

Photobucket
This is an old picture that I scanned the other day! I was planning on using this for my Friday meme, but I really wanted to use it now.

This is my oldest daughter when she was around 3 years old, so that would make this the year 2000! Isn't her hair cute? I loved it cut like this! Everyone used to ask me where I got her haircut!

I don't remember exactly what we were doing here, but I'm thinking it was at a birthday party!

And before you think I'm actually serious about the title of this picture, no she did not drink all five cans of soda! Maybe two, max!

"Come on...I double dog dare ya!"
Photobucket
Doesn't it look like he's really thinking that..lol? This is my almost 7 year old, Daniel (or Danny)! He is so funny!! We like to consider him our "boys boy" of the group! This kid has no fear, he's not a pushover, he's determined, yet he's the most soft spoken and sensitive of the bunch!! Go figure!!

WORDLESS & WORDFUL WEDNESDAY

This is my son Eli's most recent painting he took home from art class on Monday. He did do this similar painting last year, but since two of his friends are taking the same class now, he decided to do the same one as them. I love it just as much as his first lighthouse painting!

But, he was upset when he came home because his friend accidentally spilled water on his painting (on the grass area). He fixed it when he got home, but I think because of the work and heart he puts into it, he just felt like it was ruined. I told him that it was beautiful and unique..just like him!

If you want to see his other paintings I posted, you can click here, and here.

He'll be 9 in June, and he says he wants to be an architect!

WORDLESS & WORDFUL WEDNESDAY

Do you remember how my oldest son got an Ipod Touch for an early birthday present?

Well, having such items require responsibility on his part. We don't ask for much, really. Just the basics, such as getting up when you're told, and not when you want to because you were up too late playing with your new toy, cleaning your room, doing school work, etc. Simple right? I think he's got it pretty good, if you ask me!

Unfortunately, by him not being obedient in those areas, he got his Ipod and cell phone taken away for a couple of days until he proved he was "mature" enough to have them back. Last Saturday, he was so bored, he started playing around with MY phone. I thought he was playing games on it, but then I noticed he sent a text to my husband.

This is what it said...
