Of a dog named Maggie.

Who was pregnant with 5 pups of her own.

There were 6 of them living all together...

And they were not alone.

Till this one day when the litter got adopted...

But they knew they would see each other again.

Yes it's true, because we are all good friends..

And now there are more of them!

Roscoe stayed with our other friends, who already have a Bichon named Angel.


Well, Angel & Roscoe hooked up and had a litter of their own.

Here are Angelina & Chewy (because he looks like Chewbacca). Aren't they adorable! They look just like their mama! Angelina stayed with her mommy, Angel, and her daddy, Roscoe.

Angel also had Toby (definitely looks more like the Chihuahua side). Another one of our friends have him!

And Junior! Yes, our baby! He has the furry ears like the Bichon! I'm so glad he & Mocha have each other.

And Chewy is now living with Maggie, his grandma!!!

What an honor and a privilege to be a mother. My prayer is that I never forget that, or take my family for granted. Tomorrow is not promised to us, so I hope that I live each day without regrets, and letting my family know how much I love and cherish them.

SOUVENIRS FROM ABROAD

One of my good friends went back home to the Philippines for a wedding. She was so sweet to bring souvenirs home to my kids. It's so interesting to see what kinds of goodies come from other countries.

My boys love the rain stick, and of course, the girls love the bracelets and the fan. The wooden yo-yo is also a hit, but for the life of me, I'm not sure what they are supposed to do with the two toys on the left (the ones with the white rope wrapped around it). Of course, that won't stop them from using them, and so far, my son Danny has been swinging it around, and tying things up with it. I'm just scared he's going to knock the puppy's teeth out with it!

1983-8th grade Graduation

I wanted to post this in a couple of weeks, but I couldn't wait! My baby/eldest son is graduating from 8th grade next month, and looking at this picture of me makes me think of how he is going to feel walking in the ceremony receiving his certificate!

We have been homeschooling since he was in Kindergarten, and for him to be able to participate in a graduation ceremony means the world to me (and he is excited about it too). The K-12 program that we use has 8th grade & High School graduation ceremonies, so kids from all over the area get to experience it for themselves!

It's so funny because his friends are like, "You have a ceremony and you're homeschooled?"

So, here is me, graduating from 8th grade! I still remember shopping with my mom for my dress! I loved it!

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU APPLES...

Make apple crisp...

We had an over abundance of apples, so instead of them going to waste, I decided to make an apple crisp. I googled "Easy Apple Crisp Recipe" and got this from cooks.com.

It was delicious! Do you see how it formed almost a pie crust on top? So good!!! I will definitely make this again....and again....and again!

1 c. sugar
2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
6 peeled and sliced large apples
3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. butter

Combine 1/2 c. sugar, lemon juice, water and cinnamon in bottom of small baking pan. Slice in apples. Blend remaining 1/2 c. sugar, flour, salt and butter until crumbly. Spread over apples and pat smooth.

Bake at 375°F. for 40-50 minutes, until apples are tender and crust is browned. Serve hot with ice cream. This is a good recipe for apple crisp if you don't like the over-sugary oatmeal taste. It's basically a rectangular apple pie, but healthier (no lard).

WORDFUL WEDNESDAY

This is the current painting my son, Eli (who will be 10 next month), brought home from his art class. I think this is his 9th one thus far.

BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!

This past weekend there was a surprise birthday for my friend, Mary. She literally had no idea what was going on, so when she got to the park (thinking she was meeting up with her husband and kids), she was in shock to see her friends there. It was cute because FOR ONCE, she was speechless.

I think this picture totally captures how overwhelmed she was.

They had games, like, "How well do you know Mary." I tied with another gal, but we both won movie tickets! And since they had extra prizes, I also got a Starbucks giftcard! How awesome is that.

Look at this cake! It was so delicious! This particular bakery is known for their burnt almond cake. It was so moist, and literally about 3 inches thick! And yes, I ate it!

I had to get a picture of the "tweens" who were always off in their own world!

I have no idea what kind of flower/plant this is. I just love it when my daughter takes great pictures!

DADDY'S GIRL

I'm pretty sure my husband is starting a tradition with my youngest daughter. Whenever they are at the mall together, he will purposely go into Sanrio (Hello Kitty store) with her and let her pick out a ring.

I think there is something so special about a dad buying his daughter(s) jewelry. It can make her feel so special and like a princess that she is!

So, I was not surprised the other day when she walked in the house with a big smile on her face and said, "Look what daddy bought me!"
