TO LOVE THEIR HUSBANDS TUESDAY

Lauren @ Living By Faith started a wonderful meme called "To Love Their Husbands Tuesday." It is a way share wonderful and creative ways to love your spouse. I was really excited to do this because for me, it's easy to put my kids before my husband, and to take care of their needs before his. And not that that's wrong, but I get so caught up in catering to them, that I feel like he can do for himself. Does that make sense? So, this is a great way for me to put everything in perspective and to remind myself that my husband should know that he is still dreamy and exciting to me.

Side note: Lisa (my sis in-law), are you gagging right now? :)

Well, my husband was really sick all last week. He had bronchitis AND tonsilitis, which means he was home with us 24/7. Me, being a stay at home/homeschooling mom, you can imagine how much that throws a wrench in our "schedule."

I wanted to focus on him getting better, getting as much rest as the doctor ordered, and to really be there for him when he needed something. I know that I had to focus on my attitude and not get annoyed every time he asked for his meds, or even to massage his head.

So, the kids and I prayed for him daily, I took care of him with some TLC, and slowly but surely, he is feeling much better.

As a mom, I do tend to put the kids' needs first, on the assumption that they need me more and that my hubby could actually fend for himself. That's why we always have our Sat dates... just the two of us, no kids. :)

Yes, It is difficult to take care of the hubbies. They are sometimes bigger babies than the kids. LOL But they do deserve our love and tenderness even more.

I know how the "he can take care of himself" routine is so easy to fall into now that I have a new baby! I might have to see how I can improve in this area too...thanks for the idea:-)

This is such a great meme, huh? I love the idea of us wifes focusing more on what we can do for our husbands. Keep up the good work...I know he will love you more, and more for it!

It is so easy to put children's needs above our hubby's needs. Thanks for the great reminder!

What a great meme! And what a great photo. I love this post. Have been away for awhile (due to working on my bathroom)...but hope to get back in the groove soon!

It really is hard balancing time with the kids and husband as we think our spouse can take care of himself. Occasionally my hubby would say we don't have time for each other anymore and with three kids, it's hard to make time for each other. I hope your hubby is recovering finely.

I tend to put the kids need first, always figuring my fella can fend for himself. I know that I need to do more to remind him that he's special to me and so I'm trying to do that more each day, thanks for reminding me :)
Oh and stop by my blog, I gave you an award because I just love reading your blog and participating in Flashback Friday :)

I really loved your post. I think when men are sick that is when they are most vulnerable and when we need to help taking care of them. Thanks for sharing. Love the tag line of your blog because I have a wall art plaque that has the same scripture.

Isn't it amazing how having them home (something we wish for constantly) is also something that messes up the way we do EVERYTHING? It is just so weird to me. Glad to know he's on the mend.

I know exactly what you mean! Sometimes we spend our days taking care of the physical and emotional needs of our children that we forget that sometimes our spouse may not have the same kind of needs, but they need us too!

I think this is such a great meme. Routine can suck out the romance in a relationship if we're not careful and this is such a great reminder for wives to notice more than just the bills, chores and responsibilty. Love it!
