Getting Back On Track

I swear, the hardest thing about having an unexpected break in your workout is finding the motivation to go back!

I posted here awhile back on my weight loss journey!!! In a nutshell, in October 2012, I found an exercise program I fell in love with called U-Jam. I was hooked from day one, and even took the Instructor Workshop a few months later! I passed my assessment video and became a certified instructor! Everything was GREAT!!

I have to admit, I lagged on instructing because I wanted to be in the best shape I could be in because it is pretty much a high intensity cardio hip hop/universal beat class!

Anyway, to get to the point, this past April I got a stye that got infected! Ugh, it actually turned into a chalazion (gross), and after about a month of dealing with it, I finally had two of them surgically removed. Now, by this time I did not go out much because my eyelid looked HIDEOUS! Well, that wasn't it! After all that was over and done with, I went through TWO side effects from the antibiotics I was taking. Talk about a downer!!

Long story short, three months later and I'm sooooo unmotivated, and out of shape, and probably a little depressed about it!

I literally had to force myself to go back to class and find that joy again in U-Jam. I'm glad I did because I forget how fun, motivating, and inspiring it is to be in class...and with other ladies who love it just as much (if not more)!!

So, I'm getting back on track..slowly but surely...finding my love in it again! It's not hard because it is addicting..in a good way! I just have to stay consistent!

So, here's some (not all) of the classes I've been to lately. Love my instructor brother & sisters who never judged me for not being around as much!!

And did I mention that U-Jammers love the post workout picture!!!

Lunch With Mom

A few weeks ago, my mom took me and two of my sons to sushi! My husband is over Japanese food, and my three other kids can take it or leave it.

On the other hand, my other two boys can eat sushi...all day...everyday!

We have our "go to" restaurant for sushi, and I'm pretty sure I posted about this place on my blog before!

I'll just let the pictures do the talking!

But first, here is my mom and youngest son!

My Obsession. I mean, Hobby!

For the past few months, my interest in nail polish has gone from not really thinking about it, to it now being a dilemma of what color I am going to wear that day!! And mind you, it doesn't help that I easily have over 200 nail polishes!

Obsessed much?

I think not!

Or could I be in denial?

Well, nonetheless, I shriek at a new color that's come out, or even at a color I have never seen before!

But, what really surprises me is the difference in how my nails look now, as opposed to when I first started! While I was looking at older Instagram pictures, I thought to myself, "Oh my goodness, I can't believe I posted that!"

I have TONS of nail pictures I want to share, but I don't even know where to begin!  So, I decided I am going to start by posting the more recent nail polish purchase I made, which is also one of the current ones out right now. I only have three of the six in this collection because I have similar colors of the other ones.

Let me start out by saying that Zoya is probably my most favorite brand of polish! Their formula has been the most consistent by far, and all the colors are gorgeous!!! I get excited just thinking about it!!

So, with that said, this one is called Marney, however on the website, it's spelled "Marnie." It's a beautiful plum/mauve tone, and it goes on like butter!! It's gorgeous on, and you only need two coats. I could stare at my nails all day!
 photo IMG_20140806_152422_zps7a4b9d61.jpg

This one is called Emilia, and it's a dark chocolate brown!!!! Oh my gosh...I love every shade of brown, but this is one of my favorites by far!!! Perfect in every way!
 photo IMG_20140808_115644_zps69dd1eef.jpg

Finally, here we have Aubrey. A little similar to the first, but I think it has a little more pink to it. Another one I couldn't stop looking at! IT'S JUST THAT NICE!
 photo IMG_20140811_095027_zpsa702ca48.jpg

I guess what I'll do is just post my nail pictures randomly (not every other day like I do on Instagram)! And I also want to point out that I'm not being paid by any companies for my reviews. This is just something I love to do!!

Mini Dates

Well, that's what I like to call them.

Whenever my husband and I get a chance to get out (without kids), I consider that a "date," even if we're doing the most mundane thing! And we don't have to be gone for hours either (although our weekend trips are pretty darn cool)!

My husband is a Superintendent for a private contractor, so there are times (very few) that he may have to trek to the city on the weekend if there is work going on, just to make sure everything is going as planned. It could be just a few minutes, but nonetheless, I love to accompany him during those times because I LOVE going to the city! Never get tired of it!

So, last weekend, that's exactly what happened!

We headed to the job site first, and as I sat at his desk, this was to my left, and to my right!

I mean, how cool that he's able to take me! As wives, we hardly get to see where our hubby's work!
The location of this job site is pretty cool because it's right by AT&T Park (home of the San Francisco Giants).
 photo 20140816_091300_zpscbacbeb5.jpg

After we drove around a bit (I LOVE doing that), we were getting hungry! He took me to this cool little place called "Ziggy's Burgers." Yes, they serve breakfast!

This is what I had! Spinach, cheese, and avocado omelette, turkey bacon, fresh fruit, and sourdough bread. It was so good!
 photo 20140816_093811_zpsb948b64b.jpg

And his was pretty good too! Fried egg, fried potatoes, chicken sausage, and wheat bread! Everything was really fresh!
 photo 20140816_093800_zps004c24b3.jpg

After we ate and talked for a bit, it was time to head out! It was still really early, and our kids were still sleeping! But, of course, we had to stop at Starbucks first!! Always room for a mocha!

Flyin' solo for the night...well, not really...

My husband has these Union Meetings the first Tuesday of every month.

That means he won't be home for dinner, and that takes the stress off of me what to cook!

Because you know...kids are so easy to please!! A grilled cheese sandwich and some chips would suffice!

Well, it was International Pancake day, and my plan was to take them to Ihop for dinner! If you know my kids, a short stack of pancakes would not satisfy. They would be like, "What else are we getting?" Anyway, long story short, they decided they would rather have Mexican food instead.

We ended up at our go to/favorite Mexican restaurant, and I have to say that it felt super weird being there without my husband! It's like something was totally missing! I know..sounds corny!

Since we were having a great time, I decided to take them to get some froyo! They were totally stoked! It's little moments like that with my kids that I treasure. Hopefully one day they will remember these times, too!

The City By The Bay

I can't believe I am finally updating my blog after ignoring it for MONTHS!!

I really don't want to let it go for too long because my kids enjoy reading it! Now they appreciate all those times I took so many pictures of them. And this was when I was carrying my Nikon around! All I can say is thank God for a good camera on my cell phone!

Okay..I'm just going to start this blog in a random order of events!

I'll start with a little "bay"cation that my husband and I had a few weeks ago. We stayed at the same hotel we did the year prior (which was our very first getaway sans kids)!! So, it was pretty sentimental!

But before we checked in, we stopped by his job site because he wanted to check on a couple of things first. And let me say, the view from that building is awesome! You have AT&T park (home of the San Francisco Giants), and the Bay Bridge in plain sight!

See what I mean!!
 photo 20140215_133544_zpsbe45afb1.jpg

Of course, I had to do the "selfie!"
 photo 20140215_133706_zpse5e1e3b0.jpg

And let me tell ya, I think it's pretty hot to see your husband in "work" mode!
 photo 20140215_133121_zps63402159.jpg

So, when were done there, we ate at Mission Rock Resort. He had the salad, and I had the fish & chips. Delish! My mouth is watering just thinking of it!

 photo 20140215_140213_zpsfdd7aa2f.jpg

I'll show you a day & evening view from our hotel room!

 photo 7fb14918-f829-40cd-9aad-fd98b949df77_zps19cb1b11.jpg

So, we had a simple dinner that night, and walked over to get milkshakes at a little diner! Did I mention that it was smack dab in the middle of the Chinese New Year Parade?! Um, yah..so we totally enjoyed the peace & quiet of our hotel room!!

And look how refreshed we are the next morning! Just chillaxing and waiting to check out!
 photo 20140216_084639_zpse78d305a.jpg

Our hotel (Hotel Nikko) was right by Union Square, so we decided to walk over and enjoy the gorgeous weather! After my husband got a few things at Macy's I thought we were done and were going to head home, but he wanted to hang out a little bit longer. Little did I know he had something up his sleeve!!!!

And this was it!!! Tiffany's opened later than everything else, so that is WHY we were just hanging around!
And yes, I had matching nail polish!! I did this a few days later!
 photo IMG_20140224_151504_zps57b74975.jpg

And let me tell ya, I was like, "Wha???????" My husband and I don't normally get each other gifts. Seriously..I am more than content to buy what I need, and same with him. It's not a big deal at all. So, I thought this was so sweet, and so thoughtful of him!! And heck yah...from Tiffany's!! Big points for him!

So, all in all, it was a wonderful, laid back weekend with my husband!! We are already set for our next getaway this weekend!!!
