PUPPIES R' US!

What an experience we will never forget! This all just happened. 2:30 a.m.!

We knew Mocha was due to have her babies any day now. We would literally see the puppies moving in her tummy, and according to everything I read, that meant she was at the end of her pregnancy.

Tonight, she was acting restless, she was whining, she didn't know what she wanted, and she couldn't sit still. But, the place she wanted to be was under my daughter's bed. We set all the blankets underneath so she'd have a place to have her litter.

Around 1am, my daughter opens my door and says, "Mocha had puppies!" This is the first one we saw! I was in awe!! It was so unreal!

She was still so restless after having this one, and we had no clue what she was doing. About twenty minutes later, we see a light brown puppy! She had already cleaned it up.  And then another few minutes goes by, and out pops another one!

We assumed she was all done, but then, POP...a black one comes out, too! You can see that she's not done cleaning this one up.

And much to our surprise, she HAS ANOTHER ONE!!! See him down below with the white stripe? Wow! All this time too, Mocha isn't making any noises. She's a tough mama!

But, she's not done!!! She has another black one!! Amazing!

And finally..she's done. She's worn out. All her babies are snuggled under her belly. I don't know why I stressed over it. She did fine, and her doggy instincts were in full force!

I never thought I'd be one of "those people" who blogged about their pets!!

I used to think, "What is the big deal about a dog, cat, bird, turtle, hamster, etc.?"

But, since I consider our puppy like another child of mine (she just turned 1 in January, but I still consider her a puppy), I had to share this picture that my daughter took of her.

She loves staring out the window (and barking at everything that moves outside).

And I couldn't resist, but show another picture of the puppy we're getting in a couple of weeks.

Isn't he ADORABLE??!! And just to give you an idea of how tiny he is, look how small his head is in my friends hand.

Is also our best friend too!

Our little Mocha is like our little baby. For those of you who don't have a pet, I totally understand the eye rolling. Believe me, I was there too!

Veronica has come a long way with dogs. She used to be so scared of them. When we first got our puppy, it was only 8 weeks old and Veronica would jump on the couch when Mocha would walk by her. Now look at her!

No, she is NOT pregnant. Woohoo!

AND THEY CALL IT PUPPY LOVE

I thought I would give you guys a little update on our puppy, Mocha! She is about 14 weeks now, and has grown so much in the last few weeks! She totally has Chihuahua ears, but also resembles a Rat Terrier.

Oh my gosh..we are all just so in love with her! If she's not running around being a little rascal, one of the kids is carrying her! We have taught her to stop nipping/biting, and have learned so much from our Dog Whisperer DVD's..LOL!! She is still sleeping in my oldest daughters bed every night, and is getting good at the potty training (sometimes)!! So, here she is now! Isn't she super cute??

COME MEET MOCHA!

We finally got to take our puppy home this past Thursday! Our kids were just beside themselves as they could not believe the day had finally arrived!! You should have seen me at the store! I was buying everything I thought she would need! I was so tempted to buy her an outfit, but I thought I should wait for now. Besides, she looks so cute "as is!" It was like shopping for a brand new baby! But, before I get started, I want to apologize to all you animal lovers! When I used to see pictures of peoples pets, I didn't get all warm and fuzzy inside! But now, since having our own little puppy, I have taken pictures of her with both my cell phone and digital camera! I even uploaded them to my Facebook! Now, I would be the LAST, LAST, LAST person to even kiss an animal! I was the one who could not understand how someone could love a pet like their own family! But..now I'm "one of those people"! I think she already knows she has us wrapped around her little paw!! Oh, and you should see the bed I picked out for her! Who wouldn't love THAT! She's got it made already! Next week, she'll be 8 weeks and we'll be able to get all her shots! We just love her to pieces!!! I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the picture!
