As my two younger boys and I were leaving to do some errands the other day, I noticed three stray dogs in the street. Two were white puppies and the other was a medium size dog. They caught my attention because they were so little, and it looked like they all belonged together.
Normally I would have just driven off and let them be (I know, how mean), but since we have a puppy, I have somewhat of a soft heart for animals now.
I told my boys to call my eldest daughter outside so she could take a look at them, and she was immediately smitten with one of the pups. We noticed the big male dog would not leave the female pups side, and was actually a little aggressive toward the all white male puppy if it got too close.
We kept them on our front yard, fed them and gave them water. We don't know where they came from or who they belonged to because they were not wearing any collars or name tags. We brought out our puppy for a little bit, but she wanted NOTHING to do with the bigger male dog. He kept trying to be near her, and smell her, but every time he did, she would sit down.
Later on, my husband came home and told us to call the animal shelter to have them picked up. My daughter was a little sad, but we noticed that their eyes did not look too good. They all looked a little sick and unhealthy. We don't know where they've been or what even happened to them.
One intense moment was when the big dog got too territorial over the female pup and was biting on the other pups ear/neck. It was so scary! My husband ran outside because he thought it was attacking one of the kids. He grabbed the dog by the back of it's neck and it was still clinging on to the puppy with it's teeth. Finally the dog let up on the bite and my husband literally flung him like two feet!! All this in a matter of 10 seconds! It was crazy! It was a trip because my kids were all just calm sitting there watching and didn't get scared. In fact, at first, my oldest daughter was trying to pry the dogs mouth off of the puppy.
Finally, animal shelter people came and got the "trio." I hope they take care of them and give them the help they need.

My oldest daughter is holding the female puppy. You can definitely see that there is something wrong with her eyes. The all white one isn't as bad, but still does not look good. Poor thing was shivering after getting attacked by the brown dog.
And here's "Cujo". I didn't realize how bad his eyes looked until I saw this picture. I hope they find a home!!

Oh, poor things. I hope they get well and find a home. I have a soft spot for Chihuahuas.
What an adventure you all had!
Poor doggies! Hopefully they will get well and find loving homes:)
Awww, I hope they find homes. Poor doggies :( Their eyes do look strange. I wonder what's wrong with them?
I'm so glad you made sure they were safe and I hope they find a good home!
Oh! What a sad thing! I hope they find a good home!

That's so sad! I sure hope the dogs get some medical attention and go to good homes. I hate when this happens to animals. It's good you were there to care for them, even for just a bit of time.
I would have to agree with the comment above about being scared of them! lol
Thank goodess for your family stepping out and helping them. Hopefully they will get healthy and find homes :)
Love the hair cut in the previous post! I had the same one lol!!
You did a wonderful thing...
Oh my gosh, you were not kidding! They all look like they need some medical attention! When I was younger and living at home, my family would always see strays. However soft our hearts were toward them, though, we'd never touch them or care for them. We were too scared! LOL! We'd just call animal control and follow them around until they were picked up!
Oooo that brown dog gives me the willies! I sure hope the puppies are ok..
I thought you were going to say you kept the puppy. I was thinking "oh no, don´t do it Alicia." LOL And I like dogs. (most)
Have a good stray free day.
Alicia, I think it's so sweet that you guys all took care of them until they could be picked up. Hopefully they'll get some medical attention (that's a weird eye thing, huh?), and some lovin' homes to live in! :)
Now I am going to cry. That makes me so sad!
Poor little puppies! I hope they get some help!
Wow! You guys are brave for taking them in for the short time that you did. Their eyes definitely look like there was some sort of infection. Hopefully the shelter was able to help them. This summer we were out of town and our neighbors found a dead dog in our back yard. Crazy! I was so glad I was not home to find that. It would have totally freaked me out. BTW: Thanks for the well wishes. I'll be looking to you for some good old Christian motherly advice;)
Poor doggies, hope they find a home.
Oh wow, their eyes are super bad. Poor doggies. I hope they all find good homes!
Oh...no you are right...they don't look good. I hope they get the help they need and a loving family!
Awww...sounds like you had an eventful day taking care of the strays. I've found quite a few in the alley behind our house (all with tags) and managed to get them to their homes.
Oh, how sad! Girl, that was awfully nice of you. I love my Gooch, but I don't know with the dog fear that I've had all these years if I would have been strong enough to do what you did! They do look pretty sad. Hopefully, someone will give them a good home.
Ohhhhh...stories like that make me cry. I hope they'll be OK.
I'm not an animal person, but I hate to see strays. You did a good thing seeing that they get to where they can receive help. I hope they end up with happy homes too.
I'm glad you helped them. I hope they do get the care and homes they need.
I wonder what the story is behind them.
Oh wow, they look weary. How are they doing?
