On Sundays, I decided I would share a scripture(s). I pray that it will be a blessing to whoever reads it!
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.-2 Peter 3:9

SHE'S GOT THE "EYE"
Well, at least to me, she does.
My oldest daughter loves to take pictures, and honestly, I think she takes better ones than I do!
I'm thinking I should give her a DSLR, and I keep the point and shoot!
She loves taking close ups, and I trip out on how well her pictures come out (with the angles and all).
Here are more random pictures she took a few days ago (with a point & shoot). I can imagine how much better they will be with a DSLR.
There are so many of you wonderful photographers out there. Do you have any beginners advice for her (and me too)?

FRIDAY PHOTO FLASHBACK
I started "Friday Photo Flashback" because I have so many pictures from my PRE-digital camera days. I thought it would be fun to scan them and share them here with you. I'm having so much fun doing this, that I would love for you to join me, too! So dig out the photo albums and put your scanner to good use! Don't forget to sign in to MckLinky so we can all visit and comment on each others blogs!

43/52 PICTURES OF ME
I'm participating in a year long challenge, created by Carin at Forever In Blue Jeans. The goal is to be in one picture a week, for 52 weeks. Since us moms are always behind the camera, this gives us a chance to get out in front and be in the pictures with our family. So, click here if you want to join in on the fun!
I can't believe I have almost completed one years worth of pictures of ME in them! That is a miracle!
Here is Eli & me when we were eating out with my in-laws last week. He kept asking why I was taking pictures, and at one point, he tried to hide my camera. LOL!

SURPRISE! I'M EXPECTING...
Are you shocked?
It's the last thing I expected!
We are so excited. Especially the kids.
They can't wait!
I know they will embrace him from day one.
I never thought we'd add another one to our already big family.
But, as the saying goes...
"The more the merrier!"
.

.
Mocha will be a wonderful auntie.
Confused???
Well, let me explain.
Mocha's brother had a litter with our friends Bichon.
They are called "Chih-Chons."
It's a Chihuahua/Bichon mix.
Cute, huh?
And we're keeping it all in the family.
They had four cute little puppies, and we are getting "Junior" in four weeks!
He is the black one, and he is scrumptious! I know it's blurry. My dumb camera phone!
Look at that little face!!!
I've already bonded with him!! Heehee

GOOD MEXICAN EATS!
My friend called me yesterday (Monday) and asked what we were doing for dinner. I told her nothing special, just eating at home. She then asked us if we wanted to come over for dinner since her aunt cooked a dish that she was telling me about a couple of weeks ago. It's called "Birria de Pollo." All I know is that pollo means chicken, and that this was going to be authentic Mexican food!
My husband was all down for that!
Basically, it's cut up chicken, potatoes, carrots, and broth. I have no idea what seasonings were used, but it was delicious.
She also had ceviche that her aunt made, and it was the best we've ever had! The ingredients were so fresh and light!

The corn tortillas warming up!
Ceviche! Mmmm!
I know this is blurry, but it was cute watching the little ones enjoy their coke floats!

SCRIPTURE SUNDAY
On Sundays, I usually post something random. But, besides doing that, I decided I would share a scripture with you all instead. I pray that it will be a blessing to whoever reads it!

THE BURGER PIT
Despite the title of this post, we did not eat at a junky burger joint.
My in-laws were in town for a couple of days, and one of the rituals that we have when they're here, is eating at "The Burger Pit." They have been around for YEARS, dating back to 1953. Not the particular location we eat at, but the very first one in San Jose. The service is always good, and the waiters and waitresses are on it with refills and napkins. You know with all our kids, we need lots of extra napkins! This is definitely the place to go when you are craving a burger!

Typical teens in their own world.
The famous "Steerburger." One thing we did notice is that they got a little skimpy on the meat. No surprise on that one since it seems like prices are the same everywhere, but quantity is going down. But, at least it still tastes the same.
Here they are! All full and ready to go home!

There are so many jokes that come to mind when I look at this picture!
I don't blame you if you're thinking of some, too.
This is my sister (on the left) and me when we were still living in Moffett Field (Naval Base). She had to be about 5-6 years old, and seriously, I don't know if she just woke up, put on her poncho and walked right out the front door. It does look like she's smiling, so she's happy about something! And I'm assuming that we were meant to be photographed since we are somewhat posing. If I was the one taking the picture, I would have been yelling, "Brush your hair first, and open your eyes!"
As for me, I'm the one that is dressed like a little boy...again.
Well, in my mother's defense, she informed me that I liked to dress myself, and that I refused to wear dresses. So, in all the pictures where I look like this, I have myself to blame.

I HEART FACES-"I WANNA DANCE!"
This weeks theme is "I Wanna Dance!" and I thought this picture was perfect! This was at the Father Daughter Princess Ball at our church two years ago. This was toward the end of the night, and you can see the older girls were having a blast together! I think the dad's were glad to have a break! My daughter is on the one on the far right in the white dress.

DINNER IN THE CITY
On Saturday, we we went to dinner with some of our good friends. It is our FAVORITE place to go when we want an AWESOME prime rib dinner! It's in San Francisco, so we don't go there too often, but it's definitely a place you want to go to for a special occasion. We're probably better off with it not being too close to home or else we'd probably eat there more often! My pictures really don't do it any justice, but the ambiance, food, and the service always exceeds our expectations. I love it because it's so laid back and you have people wearing jeans and t-shirts, to suits and ties. If you are ever in the city, you definitely need to try The House Of Prime Rib. If you check out their website, they were also featured on The Food Network, and the PBS Channel.
We had early reservations, so after dinner we drove over to Fisherman's Wharf so we could get dessert at Ghiradelli Square. We also walked around a little bit, and the weather was surprisingly cool. Typically, it's freezing in the evening, but on this night, you could walk around without a jacket.

Here is the room that we ate in. I believe there are four rooms total, and they are all decorated differently.
The awesome San Francisco sourdough bread.
This salad is delicious! They bring it out to your table just like this. One server holds the dressing about a foot above the salad, and while he pours the dressing over it, another server spins the bowl. It's pretty cool to watch!
Tossing it up!
Now, I wish I was able to take a better picture of the prime rib cart. They literally bring it over to your table and serve you right there. The prime rib server already has your order, and knows what cut you requested. Next to the prime rib are the creamed spinach, mashed potatoes.
Oh yah, baby! Now that's what I'm talkin' bout!
You have a choice of what kind of cut you want. The guys usually order the King Henry Cut which is HUGE! This was my plate, and I always ask for The House Of Prime Rib cut.
This is my husband's plate.
And his baked potato, which they prepare at your table, too.
Now, we're all done with dinner, and ready to get our dessert on! We're waiting for the valet.
Oh yah! Check out our sundaes at Ghiradelli!! It's hard to see, but behind the banana split is a waffle cone sundae.
This was mine! Brownie sundae with mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Afterward, we walked down to Fisherman's Wharf, and I'm pretty sure we burned tons of calories. It was such a beautiful night!
As were walking, there was this guy who was doing this air brush painting. I have to admit that it was pretty awesome. You can request a picture you want, and he'll make it right there. You will find many interesting people as you keep walking! There's the guy who is painted in all silver, a band playing on the corner, and just tons of people everywhere!
We didn't get home too late, and it really was a perfect evening! Well, except for the steep hill we had to climb to get back to our cars! Actually, I think I was the only one complaining. :)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! FIELD TRIP FUN!
It probably seems like all we do is go out to eat.
Honestly, we probably eat out more than we should!
But, we had a legitimate reason this time!
The homeschooling group we are affiliated with had a field trip planned to Mountain Mikes Pizza. They had a room reserved in the back, plus arts & crafts, and all we had to do was pay for our own buffet lunch. Not too bad since our lunch totaled $35 (and that's including drinks and salad for seven of us).
My friends daughter came with us (who is one of Miranda's best friends), so that totally made a difference for her. Normally it's a lot of younger kids that go on these field trips, and my two older ones get super bored! Well, my oldest son was bored, but oh well, he was there for the pizza anyway.
But, it was a nice break, and everyone stuffed their faces with pizza, garlic bread, salad, and soda!

Miranda (with her poses), and her friend Phylicia.
Awesome pizza!
More awesome pizza!
See, we eat healthy too!
They made cards for the soldiers in the armed forces!
The girls on the left are friends of theirs too.
Their brother, and my two boys.
Of course, I had to take a "group shot" before we left.
