If your kids are anything like mine, it takes them FOREVER to just get in the car and go!
Am I asking too much of them to just walk in the garage, put their shoes on, and get in the car....in less than five minutes? While I'm sitting in the drivers seat, I start to notice the "drama" slowly unfolding. Miranda is looking around for her other shoe, Veronica needs help tying her shoes, Isaiah forgot something in the house, Eli can't find his jacket, Danny still has to put his socks on, and finally, Veronica starts whining because nobody is helping her (although she is more than capable of doing it herself). Now if that's not enough, Eli & Danny decide that this would be the perfect time to chase each other around the car!
Oh, and this is Danny's new thing. He will start riding his bike, literally, seconds before we have to leave! Who does that?
You get the picture, right?
So, it was no different when we were getting ready to go out to dinner the other night. Before getting into the car, Danny & Eli decided it was the perfect opportunity to horse around. This time they decided to kick it up a notch.

'Nuff said...
And no worries, he didn't really shank him, it was only a plastic knife. :)

Wow, I have 3 and I go crazy! Girl how do you do it? We have the same situation going on here, that is including my husband too... he loves to chase our kids around the house and play before we go anywhere. When people ask me, how many kids do you have? I always say 4 (including my husband)...I am raising 4 kids, lol
Oh girl, I'd hurt somebody! lol I have have one itty bitty little one who at this point still listens and immediately gets in the car.
That knife looks real! Yikes.
You are a patient lady. :o)
Yes, first time for me visit your site. Wow it's nice that you have a Filipino blood. Glad to know that.
I like the flashback photo, so I found your site.
God bless.

ROTF, if we lived on the same continent we would have to get the boys together to get some energy out, lol. I'm still laughing at the fact that you used the word shank, my husband worked at a prison in AZ for a year, so it sounds so prison like to me, lol!!!!
Very funny...we have our own car drama around here! Very funny love the shank reference. lmao
thanks for the laugh! :b
And I was looking forward to the day when my son can get in the car by himself!
Oh boys!!!
Yes, they take forever to get into the car!
Yes, they like to "PLAY" with plastic knives!
Yes, they like to wrestle their little brothers to screaming!!!
We have a wonderful creation on our hands!
our prob. is getting out the door! grief it takes like 20 min just to get out the door of our apt. to go anywhere.
My word does that picture look dangerous! So glad you told us it was plastic! LOL might have to up your g rated blog. jejeje
we got a lot in common raisin boys!
Every time a child of mine could get him/her self ready....I had another child. I was thinking of doing a post later on this week on this very subject. I feel your pain, I get so tried of cooking dinner, waiting for the dryer to stop, checking on the kids outside all at the same time. That is what my post was going to involve,,,,,still might.
You just described my house exactly!! It takes my boys FOREVER to get into the car...and Henry has started the riding his bike thing too! I am trying to buckle Eli into his seat, and he is grabbing his bike like he has time for a quick ride!!
Oh yes.. the knife... very familar.. boys!!
Yea...I can't imagine having 5 cuz I have 2 and that gives me a headache most of the time!!! Fun for you :P
Howdy! Erica here from "Five Moms & A Blog!"
Just wanted to drop by and say "Hi!" and thank you for visiting our blog. So you have FIVE of your own, huh? Talk about hands full! I have four of my own! And that's PLENTY for me. =0)
Oh boys...how fun.
I swear it takes us more time to get in the car than it does for all 5 of us to get ready to leave. Ugh. Oh the drama.
LOL!! Kids are hilariously scary. :)
When I am sick it's hard to let go of my "control." I still want everything perfect.
BTW, leaving probably isn't going to improve when they're older, lol! My 20 year old is STILL the last one out of the house as he always seems to wait until the last minute to do stuff......which is why we often just have him take his own car and meet us there, lol!
LOL!!!! Oh I feel ya! I thought it was just my kids!!!!
I am so glad I am not alone in this world.
I thought my life was crazy with 3. Bless you!
It is always crazy getting in the car. I busted out laughing when I saw the picture:)
LOL, it sounds like leaving is quite a production...I'm glad that mine are still small enough for me to force them into the car!! :)
LOL! Looks like these guys know how to have fun! And never mind their staling skills! :-)
I love kids, lol
I agree with momstheword, it doesn't get better as they get older, LOL. I have 4 girls and when they were all teenagers at the same time a few years ago, it took FOREVER to get out of the house on time for anything. Now, it's just my youngest 18-year-old daughter and I'm still always waiting for her.
I only have 2 kids and I have to build in 10-15 minutes to get them in the car...I can't even imagine it with 6!
You guys are all too funny!
Getting in and out of the car is a chore in it's self. I know exactly what you mean.
I was so happy to see this post :P we just went through this exact thing yesterday!!
