HOW DO THEY DO IT?

How are kids able to have endless amounts of energy, regardless of the climate conditions they are in?

Well, at least my kids do.

I feel like such a complainer when I watch my kids play soccer.

It's not that I don't enjoy watching them play.

I just don't care for the scorching sun blazing down on ME.

That sounds so selfish considering they are the ones running around in the heat, chasing after a ball.

However, I don't ever hear one complaint come out of their mouths. They don't even show signs of wanting to quit. They are like the energizer bunny.

They keep going, and going, and going.

Here I am, wiping beads of perspiration off my forehead, while they are drenched in their own sweat.

Makes me think twice!!

Kids are full of energy... and us, hmm, we're just older? :)

Not sure how they're so durable, but it's fun watching them be that way!! Just wish it was easier to keep up! :-D

I don't know how they do it either!

I find myself complaining some too when the sun is beaming down on me;)

They are kids. They are supposed to be out there sweating! But, what a great outlook you have:-)

Ahh, but that's the beauty of being a child. Heat, sweat, dirt - all of that is secondary to the most important component. Fun! :)

I would love to have at least 1/4 of my kids' energy!!!!

Oh my! Too hot for me. Here in Okla. we are cooling down getting ready for fall. Yesterday was in the 90s though. Today upper 70s. Crazy. I don't know where you are but yuck to hot weather!

I feel the exact same way when the boys are playing baseball. I can't believe how they can play and wear those hot polyester uniforms in 90 degree weather. Makes me uncomfortable just to look at them!

I was thinking the same thing while I was watching my boys play soccer this weekend! I was SO hot and they were running around like it was nothing!

What good little players! But I am right there with you mom...it's hard just sitting in the chair watching, and then looking like we were the ones out there running around too. Hope it cools down for you a bit there.

whew! He looks scorched! I don't know how they do it... I know I did as a child, but never could anymore! :) I have significantly less energy than I did as a kid!

Don't you wish you could bottle up all their energy and take some for yourself? They just go go go all day long.

LOL - Alicia, I remember those days! :) I figured it was because the kids are focused on the activity, what to do next, the score,, etc... we are just "sittin'" there,...scorching, LOL. It seems to make it worse because we have no goal to achieve other than cheer! :)

Oh yea.. the days of soccer. I HATE to sweat, and my kids seem to love it. They're kids, that's why!

I would LOVE one day of having to drag out chairs to a soccer field, serve cut up oranges and see my kids run on a soccer field. My kids look they should be athletic but God has other plans for them. What a great way to spend a Saturday.

I know it is crazy. They just get so involved...& are having so much fun it doesn't bother them. Wow, they look so hot from their game.

My kids certainly have more energy than me. Course, they get way more sleep than me, too. I should probably take note of that! I posted about soccer today, too.

Kids are full of energy. I'm not nearly as energetic as they are anymore!

My kids play outside nearly every day even when it is scortching hot. But When the weather gets like that I like to stay in the air conditioning. Fortunately it is supposed to start cooling off in a few days.

I break a sweat just getting up off the sofa...kidding! I wish I still had the energy I had way back then as a kid.

I think this is the exact reason why we say that youth is wasted on the young. They really don't appreciate it as much as we would....if we had it back in our mom bodies. :)

Yes kids can go and go, can't they, sometimes I just get tired watching them :)
Great post

Um, my biggest fear is that my children will want to play sports and I'll have to be in your shoes. Help.

if you figure it out...please let me know!!

whenever you figure out where kids get their boundless energy, can you please share with me. my niece and nephew wear me out after about one hour.

Denise said...

Yep, kids are just like energizer bunnies.

Alicia,

I wonder about that too. Why do they get all of the energy and we're left behind to follow? If anything, we're the ones who need the energy (or shared) just to keep up.

Figure it out another day and give your sweaty, little children a big hug :)!

I can't believe it's hot there! It's so windy and cold here today!

Isn't that the truth? Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way.

I don't know, but I wish they would share their secret...or at least some of the energy! LOL!

If I could just have an ounce of their energy, I'd be all set. I remember bouncing off the walls when I was young. My parents couldn't keep up with me, especially once I climb up a tree. LOL
