Monday-We saw the most beautiful rainbow after the rain! It was so bright! I had to snap a photo with my cell! It stood out so much in front of the dark clouds!

Tuesday-Movie pocorn! Yes, I know..totally fattening! Hubby was at home with the kids while I went to the movies with my mom!

Hey...I might have just started my own meme! LOL! Now, I'm going way, way back!! I'm so glad I have a scanner! I'm also using this picture for my Facebook profile! This was around 1993-94, and my husband and I were not married yet. We were at Great America with his sister and his nephew (who is in between us behind the stuffed animal). LOL, we actually broke up at the end of this day! Oh gosh..can you just say..DRAMA! Ugh..I'm so glad that that is way in the past!! Thank you Lord for new beginnings!

MAY 2007-My husband and two youngest kids. I remember him taking these random shots. He got some really cute ones and I love how their expressions look so natural and relaxed. They are actually facing a window watching birds eat out of our bird feeder. My husband is leaning toward the back of the couch and they're leaning on him.

BUSY SATURDAY!

On Saturday, our church hosted a Young Woman's Purity Conference. We had four ladies (and one teenager) share their testimonies and at one point they had a panel of four, young, godly boys/young men from our church give answer questions that any of the girls had. It was a blessing to hear these young guys share their views in terms of girls and relationships from a Christian boys perspective. I tell ya..these boys have wisdom beyond their young years! There were 30+ girls who got saved and many who made a commitment to purity. I'm so glad I was able to go with my daughter and for her to really understand the importance of being pure not only in a physical sense, but also staying pure in heart!!! Purity is not only skin deep, but heart deep as well!

During the conference, one of my friends was planning her husbands surprise 40th birthday party. Her husband was helping at church, so she was able to do everything while he was gone. It worked out perfectly because he had no idea what was going on! Around 9'ish, we decided to put on some music and dance!! They had moved the couch out of the living room that morning, so after clearing out the tables, we had a "dance floor!" We were grooving to salsa, meringue, and 70's and 80's jams! The kids were even getting into it too! It's so awesome to have our families be able to do stuff like this, and have nice, clean fun!!! So, about 1 AM'ish, we called it a night!! Oh my gosh..we were sooooo tired in the morning because we had to get up for church!! LOL, I slept all afternoon when we got home!

"NOT ME!" MONDAY

When I was putting on my new makeup, my youngest daughter did not say, "Is that to take away your fat?" I did not think to myself, "I know she didn't say THAT!" So I asked her, "What did you say?" To which she simply repeated herself nonchalantly, "I said, is that to take away your fat?" I said, "Oh...oh...you mean to take away some of the redness by my nose, right?!" Hmm..I know that is what she REALLY meant, don't cha agree?

Just a few minutes afterward while I applying a little concealer on my face with a brush, she did not say, "Oh..your arm is jiggly." I didn't reply with, "Well, you are just the right person I need to help with my self esteem!"

We did not go to our friends surprise birthday party Saturday and stay till 1am because we were all having a "dance party" in their living room. All the kids were not dancing either...and not only to 70's and 80's music!

I totally do not have a "favorite" in the childrens class that I teach on Sunday nights. I do not just want to hug and squeeze him the entire time. I really would not want the other kids to feel left out!

AMAZING CELINE DION CONCERT!

She totally rocked! All I have to say about her voice is, "Wow!" The way she sounds on her CD's is exactly how she sounds live! If you ever get an opportunity to see her in concert, it will be so worth it. She puts on amazing show, which is flawless by the way!

My friends employer owns one of the penthouse suites, so although we were way up high, it was nice to have the comfort of like being in a living room!

This is my friend Jyl! She actually has an amazing voice too! She sings on the Worship team at our church!

This is the suite we were in. On the far right is a TV, counter, sink, & fridge! There's a balcony connected to this room that overlooks the arena. That is where the chairs are set up. How awesome is that!

Wednesday-My daughters "self portrait" with my cell. Why does she always do that to her mouth when she takes her own picture? Is that the new "cool?"

1. What is your favorite family activity? Definitely, roller skating!! It's so fun and it's great exercise!!

2. Do you know how to play poker? LOL, when I was around 13, my step brothers showed me how to play!

3. Have you ever been to a chiropractor? Regularly? Never have. Honestly, I don't think I'd be comfortable..lol.

4. Have you ever slopped pigs or milked cows? I have no idea what "slopped pigs" means..LOL! Milked a cow??? No thanks, I just like seeing them on the hills when I'm driving!

5. How are you doing with the goals you made for the New Year? I'm actually doing good with watching what I eat. I'll indulge myself once in awhile, but I will get back on track the next day..or the next!

6. Is there something you dread doing every day? Yah, cooking!

7. What room in your home would you most like to buy new furniture for? The living room! I would love to get a new couch!!

MY HUSBAND ROCKS INSPIRATION #11

I have a few bloggy friends that participate in this meme, and I've always wanted to jump in and do it too! It's so easy to focus my blog on my children and even myself, so I thought it would be nice to shed a little light on my husband! For the most part, we all hear very little about our spouses, so I think this is a great way to share how our husbands "rock!" If you want to share how your hubby rocks, click here.

Share your favorite "married moment" from the past couple of weeks. Anything that was special, made you smile, or made you feel all "warm and fuzzy" :)

Well, since it was just Valentines Day, I think I will share how I felt "warm and fuzzy" on this particular night. Not because any gifts he gave me, but just for the time we had alone as a couple. Granted, we were there with a few of our friends, but when we were walking in the city, I loved the intimacy of having my arm intertwined with his. You didn't know I was a little romantic, did ya? When we're out with our kids, it's sometimes difficult to be into each other because we're constantly trying to be aware of what they (the kids) are doing at all times. With five kids in tow, you just can't be "la dee da." So, even as something as simple as being "arm in arm" made me feel "warm and fuzzy!" The drive home was relaxing and it was just nice to talk and recap about our night without any interruptions. It was a great night with my husband, and I'm so thankful that after 21 years we still have that "spark." But..that's for a totally different post..LOL!

CELINE DION FANS OUT THERE?

I have a busy weekend coming up (starting tomorrow night). I'm so excited because I'm really looking forward to a couple of things! Earlier my girlfriend called me up and the conversation went something like this.

Jyl: "Hey Alicia, you have home fellowship on Friday's, huh?"

Me: "Yah, but it's at the Davallous' tomorrow and not our house."

Jyl: "Oh, I was wondering if you wanted to go somewhere tomorrow night. I'm going for sure, but I have an extra ticket."

Me: (Still listening)

Jyl: "Would you be interested in CELINE DION?"

Me: "Oh, heck yes I would! What time?"

Jyl: "It's at 8 o'clock, at the HP Pavilion."

Me: "OH YAHHHH!!"

Jyl: "And we'll be in the suite with other people from my firm."

Me: "Okay..let me talk to Gabe and I'll call you RIGHT BACK because I'm in the bathroom right now. (Yah, I know, TMI)!

Me: "Honey..(I repeat verbatim)."

He didn't even get to respond because he could tell how excited I was!!!

Me: "Jyl...I'm in!!!!!"

Jyl: "Just pick me up in front of my building and we can drive from there, plus, I have a parking pass."

So, for all you Celine Dion fans, I'll be seeing her tomorrow night!! I've always heard her concerts were awesome! Her voice is amazing, so I'm really looking forward to hearing her sing live!

I did not tell my husband that I did not want my own pair of roller skates because I'd rather use that money to pay part of a purse that I found on Ebay! I so did not find an awesome deal! I did not pay less than half of what the purse is worth!

I did not purposely wear my boots two Sunday evenings ago so I wouldn't have to "walk" after church! I'm not that lazy!

I was not surprised that I was totally after only eating half of my burger at Chili's! That was not first! ;)

I totally did not stuff my face with sourdough bread, prime rib, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, and a brownie sundae on Valentine's Day! Why would I do that when I'm so watching my carb intake?

I did not stay up till 1:30 am just to finish my Valentine's Day post!

I am totally not excited to try out Bare Escentuals makeup tomorrow morning! I do not have an appointment at Nordstrom with my friends daughter who works in that department!

AWESOME VALENTINE DAY & NIGHT!

We had such an awesome day/night! It couldn't have been better! We had an early reservation at 3:30, so that gave us all plenty of time to do something afterward. We ate at The House Of Prime Rib and I can't emphasize enough on how delicious their prime rib is. In fact, this is all they serve because it is their specialty! Our first time there was about 10 years ago, and we love introducing this place to our friends. The dinner was excellent, and we were all FULL and done around 6'ish. We already had plans to hook up with our other friends who were already in San Francisco, so we got in touch with them and decided to meet at Ghiradelli Square for some dessert! Oh, it was yummy!! The line was out the door, but surprisingly all eleven of us were able to get seated right away! When we were done there, we all drove to Union Square to walk around. The weather was perfect! Too bad we got there too late because all the stores just closed! But, that was okay because it felt good just to walk after we stuffed our faces! We ended up getting home around eleven, and we were blessed because my mom was here to watch the kids for us! We missed the kids too!

Yes, this is MY dessert! Fudge brownie sundae with two scoops of mint chocolate chip ice cream!! It was decadent!

I couldn't finish mine. It was really rich!

Our other good friends, Mariela & Perry. They are the ones we hooked up with after dinner! Love them!

So overall, it was a great night shared with our awesome friends! Oh gosh..lots and lots of laughs all night! What more could I ask for? I know we'll be talking about it at church tomorrow!
